DICE is seeking a Senior Environment Artist to craft immersive worlds for future games, elevating visual quality through industry experience. This role involves close collaboration with Lead Artists and Project Managers to ensure timely, high-quality project deliveries. The ideal candidate will have a proactive, improvement-oriented mindset, contributing to industry-leading graphics and providing leadership within the art team.
Must have:
  • Create immersive environments, expansive worlds, maps, and large-scale environments
  • Plan level content, estimate time, and prototype with designers and artists
  • Collaborate with leads and seniors to solve technical and artistic challenges
  • Ensure environments meet quality and technical standards, optimizing performance
  • Actively seek and provide constructive feedback within the team
  • Work closely with external partners, offering guidance and feedback
  • Uphold naming conventions and documentation practices
  • Guide and support junior team members
  • Work with lighters, level designers, and technical artists for seamless communication
  • Contribute to developing future tools through testing and knowledge sharing
  • Over 5 years of experience in the games industry
  • Exceptional artistic skills for realistic environments, terrain, set-dressing, backdrops, materials, and composition
  • Proficiency with leading real-time game engines like Frostbite or Unreal
  • Enthusiasm for the technical aspects of content creation and new workflows
  • Adaptability and problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment
  • Collaborative team player with transparent communication
  • Actively promotes a culture of learning and transparency
  • Keeps up with industry trends and advancements

We're looking for a Senior Environment Artist to join our team of talented content creators, crafting immersive worlds for the future. In this role, you'll elevate the visual quality of our games, through your industry experience and knowledge. You'll collaborate closely with the Lead Artist and Project Managers, providing expertise and leadership within the production environment to ensure timely and high-quality project deliveries for yourself and the art team. We are looking for an experienced professional with a proactive, improvement-oriented mindset to help us continue delivering industry-leading graphics.

Responsibilities

  • Create Immersive Environments: Design and develop expansive worlds, maps, and large-scale environments
  • Content Planning and Collaboration: Plan level content, estimate time, and prototype, working closely with designers and artists to ensure timely, high-quality delivery
  • Engage in Problem Solving: Collaborate with leads and seniors to discuss scope, solve technical and artistic challenges, and adhere to production schedules
  • Maintain Quality Standards: Ensure environments meet quality and technical standards, optimizing performance as necessary
  • Foster Feedback Culture: Actively seek and provide constructive feedback within the team
  • Collaborate with External Partners: Work closely with external partners, offering guidance and constructive feedback
  • Establish Structure and Documentation: Uphold naming conventions and documentation practices for clarity and consistency
  • Mentor and Support: Guide and support junior team members, fostering their growth and development
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with lighters, level designers, and technical artists to ensure seamless communication and collaboration
  • Innovate and Share Knowledge: Contribute to developing future tools through testing, feedback and sharing knowledge and best practices with the art team

Requirements

  • Experienced Professional: Over 5 years of experience in the games industry
  • Artistic Excellence: Exceptional artistic skills with a keen eye for interpreting reference and concept art, creating realistic environments including terrain, set-dressing, backdrops, materials, and composition
  • Proficient in Game Engines: Experienced with leading real-time game engines like Frostbite or Unreal
  • Technically Passionate: Enthusiastic about the technical aspects of content creation, eager to explore new workflows and tools
  • Adaptable Problem Solver: Demonstrates adaptability and problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment, driving long-term improvement strategies
  • Collaborative Team Player: Thrives in a collaborative environment, solving problems through transparent communication and fostering efficient teamwork
  • Craft Contributor: Actively promotes a culture of learning and transparency within the craft
