Must have:
  • Create immersive environments, worlds, maps, and large-scale environments
  • Plan level content, estimate time, and prototype
  • Collaborate with designers and artists for timely, high-quality delivery
  • Engage in problem-solving with leads and seniors
  • Maintain quality and technical standards, optimizing performance
  • Actively seek and provide constructive feedback
  • Work closely with external partners, offering guidance
  • Uphold naming conventions and documentation practices
  • Guide and support junior team members
  • Work with lighters, level designers, and technical artists
  • Contribute to developing future tools through testing and feedback
  • Share knowledge and best practices with the art team
  • Over 5 years of experience in the games industry
  • Exceptional artistic skills with a keen eye for interpreting reference and concept art

We're looking for an Environment Artist to join our team of content creators, shaping in-games worlds for the future. As an Environment Artist, you will help us take the visual quality of our games to the next level. On a daily basis you will report to the Lead Artist and Project Manager in your team, meeting to review work and discuss progress about project deliveries. We are looking for an accomplished professional with a positive drive.

Responsibilities

  • Create Immersive Environments: Design and develop expansive worlds, maps, and large-scale environments
  • Content Planning and Collaboration: Plan level content, estimate time, and prototype, working closely with designers and artists to ensure timely, high-quality delivery
  • Engage in Problem Solving: Collaborate with leads and seniors to discuss scope, solve technical and artistic challenges, and adhere to production schedules
  • Maintain Quality Standards: Ensure environments meet quality and technical standards, optimizing performance as necessary
  • Foster Feedback Culture: Actively seek and provide constructive feedback within the team
  • Collaborate with External Partners: Work closely with external partners, offering guidance and constructive feedback
  • Establish Structure and Documentation: Uphold naming conventions and documentation practices for clarity and consistency
  • Mentor and Support: Guide and support junior team members, fostering their growth and development
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with lighters, level designers, and technical artists to ensure seamless communication and collaboration
  • Innovate and Share Knowledge: Contribute to developing future tools through testing, feedback and sharing knowledge and best practices with the art team

Requirements

  • Experienced Professional: Over 5 years of experience in the games industry
  • Artistic Excellence: Exceptional artistic skills with a keen eye for interpreting reference and concept art, creating realistic environments including terrain, set-dressing, backdrops, materials, and composition
  • Proficient in Game Engines: Experienced with leading real-time game engines like Frostbite or Unreal
  • Technically Passionate: Enthusiastic about the technical aspects of content creation, eager to explore new workflows and tools
  • Adaptable Problem Solver: Demonstrates adaptability and problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment, driving long-term improvement strategies
  • Collaborative Team Player: Thrives in a collaborative environment, solving problems through transparent communication and fostering efficient teamwork
