Job Summary

At welevel, a Munich-based startup, we're building the future of RPG and survival games. This role as an Unreal Environment Artist involves close collaboration with concept art and game design to create realistic, procedurally generated environments with interesting biomes and points of interest. You will be an active team member, providing and receiving feedback, coaching others, and working self-directed to shape a modern 3D art pipeline, finding solutions even without concept art.

Must Have

  • Work closely with concept art, game design, and other departments on realistic, procedurally generated environments.
  • Be an active team member, providing and receiving feedback/guidance, coaching other team members.
  • Ability to work self-directed and be proactive.
  • Take part in shaping a modern 3D art pipeline.
  • As an experienced artist and problem solver, find solutions when there is no concept art.
  • Hyped about Nanite foliage and Lumen in Unreal Engine 5.
  • Knowledge of the concept and working with procedural generated worlds.
  • Interest in super realistic forest environments and lighting.
  • A portfolio filled with relevant realistic AAA artworks.
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in Unreal Engine 5.
  • Ability to work onsite in Munich, Germany (EU work authorization required).
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

Good to Have

  • Knowledge of Voxel Pro 2.0.
  • Skilled in other software like Houdini, SpeedTree etc.

Requirements
