Senior 3D Background Artist

Wizcorp is seeking a Senior 3D Background Artist for next-generation game console projects. This role involves comprehensive background design and 3D modeling, including conceptualization with planners and programmers, 3D model production (modeling, sculpting, texturing, setup), and technical support. You'll leverage your skills in various DCCs, Unity/Unreal Engine, shaders, and high-end 3DCG graphics to contribute to a passionate, remote-first team focused on bringing magic back to game development.

Must Have

• Specialized skills and knowledge in the 3D background modeling production process
• Experience using multiple DCCs (Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter, Houdini)
• Experience in background modeling using Unity or Unreal Engine
• Knowledge of shaders and scripts

Job Description

Wizcorp is looking for a 3D Background Artist to work on projects for next-generation game consoles. Depending on your background, skills, and experience, we will introduce you to the optimal position within our team.

This is an opportunity to work worldwide as an artist for our group companies, which have offices in 21 countries. By interacting with and participating in the creation of various art styles from around the world, your own experience and skills will be further enriched.

You will be involved in all aspects of background design and 3D background modeling in game development.

Specific tasks include:

• Conceiving and producing backgrounds in line with game design in cooperation with planners and programmers.
• 3D background model production (modeling, sculpting, texturing, setup, etc.).
• Technical support for 3D background production.

⏲ Flex-time System

Everyone has a different way of using their creative time, and you know best what works for you.

You will work 8 hours a day (excluding a 1-hour break) from Monday to Friday, with core hours from 11:00 to 16:00. The allocation of time outside core hours is up to you.

🌎 Flexible Work Location

Wizcorp implements full remote work, and most employees work from home. Of course, you can also work at the office if needed, using meeting rooms and hot desks.

The salary range for a Senior Character Artist is as follows:

Annual 4.8 to 9.6 million JPY (Monthly 400,000 to 800,000 JPY)

The starting salary will be determined based on the applicant's experience and interview evaluation.

The first 6 months after joining will be a probationary period, but the salary will not be affected or changed during this time.

💹 Salary Increase and Bonus 💹

• There is an annual performance review, and salaries are reviewed based on experience and contribution to projects.
• Salary increases are typically made around October-November each year, based on the budget and financial forecasts for the next fiscal year.
• No bonuses are provided.
