Job Summary

As a Scene Set-up Artist, you will be responsible for the first step in organizing scenes and including all assets necessary for each scene to move forward into production. You will work closely with the Production team, setting up Harmony scene templates, importing assets, confirming elements, and adjusting camera movements to prepare scenes for animation and compositing, ensuring all production requirements and deadlines are met.

Must Have

  • Proficiency in Toon Boom Harmony is required.
  • Responsible for organizing scenes and including all assets necessary for production.
  • Set up Harmony scene templates and adjust settings.
  • Ensure assets (characters, BGs, props, FXs) are well-imported and technically safe.
  • Confirm all elements required in the scene are present.
  • Adjust camera movements and prepare them for comp.
  • Communicate any recurring issues to other departments.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure production requirements are met.
  • Address any internal notes and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to take direction and work under schedules.

Good to Have

  • Previous experience in a studio production pipeline is preferred.

Join us for Ted & Paula’s Tadpole Journey - a new original series!

The 52 x 11 min 2D animated series combines action with silly cartoony comedy.

We are looking for Scene Set-up Artists to support our talented team. At the Studio, you would be part of a friendly and tight-knit team, working in collaboration with the Directors, Production and all of our talented artists!

Note - the position is at our Las Palmas studio, so candidates who are already in Gran Canaria or who are willing to relocate to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria will be prioritized.

Purpose of the role:

As a Scene Set-up Artist, you will be responsible for the first step in organizing scenes and including all assets necessary for each scene to move forward into production. You will work closely with the Production team.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up Harmony scene templates, and adjust the necessary settings to identify each individual scene by number, length, render settings, and other identifying qualities.
  • Making sure assets such as characters, BGs, props, and FXs are well-imported and technically safe for animation.
  • Confirm that all elements required in the scene are present and accounted for.
  • Communicate any recurring issues to other departments, so that they can adjust their deliverables to scene prep.
  • Adjust camera movements and prepare them for comp.
  • Make any necessary adjustments to scene elements to prepare them for animation and compositing.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure all production requirements are met.
  • Anticipate potential needs and issues that the compositing department may encounter.
  • Address any internal notes.
  • Making sure the deadlines are met.

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Proficiency in Toon Boom Harmony is required.
  • Previous experience in a studio production pipeline is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a part of a team, and ability to take direction.
  • Ability to work under schedules and deadlines.
