Job Description

AVER is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst with government contracts experience to support the Controller in full cycle accounting. This role involves maintaining the general ledger, performing monthly reconciliations, managing A/R and A/P, developing accounting procedures, and providing financial reports. The analyst will also assist with project setup, payroll, budgeting, and tax requests. A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance and hands-on knowledge of GAAP, SOX, FAR, DCAA, and Deltek Costpoint are required.
Must have:
  • Maintain general ledger: preparing general ledger entries, reconciling accounts, and entering month-end/year-end related entries and accruals.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet and banking reconciliations.
  • Prepare month to month balance sheet flux analysis for reporting.
  • Perform full cycle, A/R processing all cash receipts, deposits, monitor aging and assisting with monthly billing.
  • Perform full cycle A/P, preparing payments, reconciling accounts, and resolving vendor-related issues.
  • Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current practices, recommending changes, and developing internal control.
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
  • Provide ad-hoc reports as needed, including month end reports for PMs.
  • Assist with project set-up in Costpoint, new employee set-up and timesheets, payroll operations, budgeting/forecasting and compiling year-end tax request from third-party firm.
  • Complete semi-monthly payroll.
  • Assist in preparation of yearly budget and monthly forecasts.
  • Bachelor’s Degree Accounting/Finance or related field.
  • Hands on knowledge of GAAP, SOX, FAR, DCAA.
  • Experience with government contracts (FFP, T&M, CPFF).
  • Experience and an understanding of indirect/wrap rates.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint/Time and Expense.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now Proficiency.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication, adaptability, dependability and quality control.
  • Ability to track multiple tasks with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance (Public Trust).
  • U.S. Citizenship.
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of federal or government contracting financial and accounting principals.
  • CPA candidate/eligible desired.

AVER is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst with government contracts experience to support the Controller in full cycle accounting. Senior Financial Analyst will play a critical role in advising the company on its accounting practices and financial strategy. Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintaining general ledger: preparing general ledger entries by maintaining records and files, reconciling accounts, and entering month-end/year-end related entries and accruals
  • Completion of monthly balance sheet and banking reconciliations
  • Preparing month to month balance sheet flux analysis for reporting
  • Performing full cycle, A/R processing all cash receipts, deposits, monitor aging and assisting with monthly billing
  • Full cycle A/P, preparing payments by accruing expenses, assigning account numbers, executing weekly disbursements, reconciling accounts, and resolving vendor-related issues
  • Developing and implementing accounting procedures by analyzing current practices, recommending changes, and developing internal control
  • Answering accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Providing ad-hoc reports as needed, including month end reports for PMs

Education Requirements:
