KRAFTON India is seeking a talented Senior Game Designer to craft battlegrounds for mobile action games, focusing on compact, engaging, and competitively viable maps optimized for shorter 4-5 minute matches. The role involves owning the level design process from concept to final polish, utilizing rapid playtest iteration. Key responsibilities include designing and prototyping ideas in Unity, technical design for weapons and combat mechanics, tuning meta-systems, collaborating with engineers, and using data to inform balance changes.
Must Have:
  • Design, prototype, and implement ideas directly in Unity, including active and passive abilities.
  • Ability to think like a programmer, breakdown, deconstruct and understand existing mechanics into systems and write detailed specs which programming team can use.
  • Own the technical design and data implementation for all weapons, equipment, and core combat mechanics.
  • Use scripting and data management tools to create and tune the game's meta-systems, such as player progression, rewards, and live-ops events.
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure systems are scalable, performant, and easy for other designers to use.
  • Analyze player data and feedback to make informed, data-driven balance changes and feature improvements.
  • Develop and maintain design tools and spreadsheets to streamline balancing and content creation.
  • Understand how to model systems on spread sheets or tools like machinations.
  • 5+ years of game design experience, with a strong focus on technical design or systems design.
  • Shipped at least one game in technical design capacity.

About the Role:

We are seeking a talented Senior Game Designer to craft the battlegrounds for our mobile action games. Your role is to design compact, engaging, and competitively viable maps that are optimized for shorter, 4-5 minute matches. You will own the level design process from initial concept and blockout to final polish, using rapid playtest iteration to create strategically rich environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, prototype, and implement ideas directly in Unity, including active and passive abilities.
  • Ability to think like a programmer, breakdown, deconstruct and understand existing mechanics into systems and write detailed specs which programming team can use
  • Own the technical design and data implementation for all weapons, equipment, and core combat mechanics.
  • Use scripting and data management tools to create and tune the game's meta-systems, such as player progression, rewards, and live-ops events.
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure systems are scalable, performant, and easy for other designers to use.
  • Analyze player data and feedback to make informed, data-driven balance changes and feature improvements.
  • Develop and maintain design tools and spreadsheets to streamline balancing and content creation.
  • You understand how to model systems on spread sheets or tools like machinations

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of game design experience, with a strong focus on technical design or systems design.
  • Shipped at least one game in technical design capacity.
  • Proficiency in a scripting language (e.g., Visual Scripting, C#, Python, or similar) and experience working directly within the Unity engine.
  • Strong understanding of game balance, combat systems, and player motivation in a competitive environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to manipulate large data sets to inform design choices.
