Job Description

This is an opportunity to join an experienced and passionate team dedicated to third-person action/adventure games. For our next production, we are strengthening our Gameplay Programming pole. In a human-sized team, you will be responsible for the complete development of features, in direct collaboration with the design, animation, and art poles. You will develop and integrate key gameplay elements such as AI, animations, sound, camera, and interface, ensuring clear, maintainable, and documented code.
Must have:
  • Be responsible for the development and integration of one or more key game elements, ensuring complete feature management.
  • Collaborate closely with design, animation, and art teams to design adapted solutions, anticipating risks and proposing creative and technical improvements.
  • Develop and integrate key gameplay elements: AI, animations, sound, camera, interface.
  • Ensure your code is clear, maintainable, and documented.
  • Organize your work autonomously, using internal tools and integrating team feedback.
  • Take into account feedback from the company's QA department and the game publisher.
  • Support junior profiles in the team, sharing your experience and contributing to their skill development.
  • Be proactive in proposing ideas, both on technical aspects and on design choices and player experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in gameplay programming in video games.
  • Proficiency in C++.
  • Clear communication and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Autonomy in taking full ownership of topics.
  • Ability to step back and propose creative and technical improvements.
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of pathfinding and artificial intelligence.
  • Experience or curiosity for projects with strong gameplay stakes, especially on narrative or third-person action/adventure games (3C, etc.).
  • Experience with physics engines.

For our next production, we are strengthening our Gameplay Programming pole. In a human-sized team, you will be responsible for the complete development of features, in direct collaboration with the design, animation, and art poles.

Your team

You will join the Gameplay team led by Cyril Doillon (Gameplay Technical Director), composed of 8 programmers.

The organization relies on daily collaboration with the design, animation, and art teams, and an approach focused on rapid and iterative resolution of production issues.

Your missions

  • You will be responsible for the development and integration of one or more key game elements, ensuring complete feature management.
  • You will collaborate closely with the design, animation, and art teams to design adapted solutions, anticipating risks and proposing creative and technical improvements.
  • You will develop and integrate key gameplay elements: AI, animations, sound, camera, interface.
  • Your responsibilities may include AI, environmental interactions, camera control, economy management, and player progression, etc.
  • You will ensure that your code is clear, maintainable, and documented.
  • You will organize your work autonomously, using internal tools and integrating team feedback.
  • You will also take into account feedback from the company's QA department and the game publisher.
  • You will mentor more junior profiles in the team, sharing your experience and contributing to their skill development.
  • You will be proactive in proposing ideas, both on technical aspects and on design choices and player experience.

The fundamentals for success in this role

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in gameplay programming in video games.
  • Proficiency in C++.
  • Clear communication and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Autonomy in taking full ownership of topics.
  • Ability to step back and propose creative and technical improvements.

The little extras to be even more comfortable

  • Knowledge of pathfinding and artificial intelligence.
  • Experience or curiosity for projects with strong gameplay stakes, especially on narrative or third-person action/adventure games (3C, etc.).
