SailPoint is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to help build and maintain our cloud-based SaaS identity analytics product. We are looking for well-rounded backend or full stack engineers who are passionate about building and delivering reliable, scalable microservices and infrastructure for SaaS products.

Experience working in a FedRAMP environment
4+ years of professional software development experience
Strong Go experience
Knowledge of security protocols
Experience leading design for a team
Great communication skills
Comprehensive experience with analysis and design skills
Experience with container orchestration services such as Docker and Kubernetes
Comprehensive understanding of Go standard library
Preferred
Experience with AWS infrastructure and services, such as EC2, EKS, VPC configuration, DynamoDB, Lambdas
Experience with Continuous Delivery using CloudBees
Experience instrumenting code for gathering production metrics
BS in Computer Science, or a related field

What success looks like in the role
Within the first 30 days you will:
Complete onboarding with HR
Get their environment set up
Take on some tickets, bugs. Resolving some tech debt or bugs form backlog to start; something that doesn’t require a lot of subject matter expertise.
All work committed has tests
Complete the ISC-specific courses
Review the body of documentation on CIEM
New hire maintains availability during core business hours and effectively communicates issues ahead of time.
60 days:
Taking on more tickets and bugs. Ticket resolution.
Performing code reviews and providing feedback on code reviews
Comfortable raising question to the team
Making sure they truly understand the requirements and the bugs
Participating in technical design and grooming sessions with the team
Shadow an on-call rotation
By 90 days:
Participate in the on-call rotation
Do a technical design if the opportunity is available
Give a presentation on something they don’t like about the system or an area that has room for improvement
Presenting their work at feature demos
Contribute in a significant way to team documentation
By 6 months:
Mentoring if the opportunity is available
Know how system works and be able to do cross-service changes confidently
Able to work independently on any task
Has the knowledge base expected of active CIEM team member
Contribute significantly to sprint goals
Regularly defines and upholds PR code review quality for the team
By 1 year:
Trust them to be part of the interview panel for new roles
Participate in owning tech design document if the opportunity is available
Leading cross-team involvement if the opportunity is available
Participating in customer and professional services calls
Attends relevant learning opportunities and presents to the team
