Job Description

The India Accounting Senior Manager will lead a team for Corporate and regional (US, EMEA and APAC) accounting teams. This role will be responsible for general ledger accounting, closing and entity accounting processes with a focus on quality while also driving their direct reports to continuously improve the process foundation. This role also will assume responsibilities of Master Data Management for Vendor and Customer Master. This role will report directly to Senior Director India Operations and Matrixed into CAO Controller with highly matrixed interaction with the regional controllership. This role is Hybrid, with US working hours. (2pm-11pm India) and will oversee 12-15 individuals.

Must Have:
  • Lead the India Accounting team providing general and entity accounting services.
  • Strong collaboration and Partnership with Controllers at Corporate and Regional accounting teams.
  • Global Accounting Process Ownership and driving adherence to the global close calendar.
  • Delivering on time to enable CAO to deliver accurate and timely consolidated financial statements.
  • Adhere to global accounting controls requirements.
  • Ensuring quality analysis and financial information to operating and corporate management.
  • Ownership in delivering consolidated financial reporting for corporate.
  • Provides insights and analysis to leadership as required.
  • Works closely with management and other stakeholders to continually track and report metrics.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Champion, develop and implement process transformation by continuous process improvement mindset.
  • Be the Talent Builder, Upskill and Reskill the team in terms of new tools, skillsets.
  • Supervises and trains department staff, evaluates performance, and provides feedback.
  • Ownership and Team Management for service delivery and operations of Master Data Management Process.
  • Handling Vendor and Customer Master Requests globally.
  • Cross Functional Partnership and Collaboration with other Cubic departments.
  • Four-year college degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • At least 5 to 7 years progressive accounting experience.
  • Chartered accountant certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with general ledger, P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP).
  • Prior experience managing an accounting team.
  • Demonstrated success creating and maintaining strong partnerships.
  • Ability to identify areas of under-performance and rectify.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing business process improvements.
  • Excellent personal interaction skills, willingness to share knowledge, coach and collaborate.
  • Strong organization and planning skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Able to protect and handle confidential personnel information.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the India Accounting team who provides general and entity accounting services with strong collaboration and Partnership with Controllers at Corporate and Regional accounting teams
  • Global Accounting Process Ownership and driving the team in adhering to the global close calendar and delivering on time to enable CAO to deliver accurate and timely consolidated financial statements
  • Adhere to the global accounting controls requirements and ensuring there is quality analysis and financial information to operating and corporate management.
  • Ownership in delivering a consolidated financial reporting for corporate and provides insights and analysis to leadership as required.
  • Works closely with management and other stakeholders to continually track and report metrics to monitor performance as per the requirements
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement and innovation that values learning and a commitment to quality
  • Champion, develop and implement process transformation by continuous process improvement mindset in streamlining, standardizing, Automating – Journal Entries, Reconciliations etc.,
  • Be the Talent Builder, Upskill and Reskill the team in terms of new tools, skillsets that will make processes better.
  • Supervises and trains department staff to improve individual and organizational performance.

Evaluates staff performance and provides positive feedback.

Prepares or reviews annual performance evaluations for the India Accounting team.

  • In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them
  • Ownership and Team Management for service delivery and operations of Master Data Management Process, Handling Vendor and Customer Master Requests globally
  • Cross Functional Partnership and Collaboration with other Cubic departments (Procurement, Sales, Business Development, Finance) to ensure optimal process design and process effectiveness.
  • In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform, other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree in Accounting or Finance with at least 5 to 7 years progressive accounting experience and a Chartered accountant certification. Minimum of 5 years

experience with general ledger, P&L and Balance Sheet including experience and working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP).

  • Prior experience managing an accounting team is required along with demonstrated success creating and maintaining strong partnerships with colleagues, regional controllers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify areas of under-performance and agree plans to rectify. Demonstrated experience designing and implementing business process improvements.
  • Demonstrates excellent personal interaction skills with a willingness to share knowledge, coach and collaborate effectively with individuals and other departments.
  • Strong organization and planning skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment and service-based organization are highly desirable.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, (including automation), prior experience of SAP preferred but not essential.
  • Able to protect and handle confidential personnel information.

Condition of Employment:

Successful outcome of a National Police Check and background check.
