As a Tax Senior Manager in PwC's Tax Reporting & Strategy (TRS) practice, you will lead complex tax compliance and advisory engagements. This role combines technical delivery with strategic management, overseeing multiple teams and ensuring high standards of accuracy and client service. You will develop client relationships and team capabilities, leveraging advanced tax expertise and project management skills. The position involves contributing to practice growth through business development, process improvement, and thought leadership, while fostering high-performing, diverse teams and applying sound judgment to complex problems.
Must have:

  • Mentor, coach, and develop Managers and other team members
  • Oversee resource allocation, workflow management, and succession planning
  • Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies for clients
  • Monitor and analyze changes in the tax and business landscape
  • Champion thought leadership by contributing to publications, seminars, and industry forums
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations in TRS
  • Drive the adoption of technology and automation in tax processes

Job Details

As a Tax Senior Manager in the Tax Reporting & Strategy (TRS) practice at PwC, you will serve as a key leader responsible for managing complex tax compliance and advisory engagements. This role sits at the intersection of technical delivery and strategic management, bridging the gap between day-to-day project execution and broader practice leadership. You will oversee multiple teams, ensure the highest standards of technical accuracy and client service, and play a significant role in developing both client relationships and the capabilities of your team.

The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical expertise in tax, proven experience managing large-scale projects, and the ability to provide strategic guidance to both clients and internal teams. You will also contribute to the growth and operational excellence of the TRS practice through business development, process improvement, and thought leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Development

Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple concurrent projects ( tax provisions, deferred tax computations, and statutory filings) in compliance with Nigerian Tax Laws and international accounting standards, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards.

Mentor, coach, and develop Managers and other team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and high performance.

Oversee resource allocation, workflow management, and succession planning within your teams to ensure effective project delivery and professional growth.

Drive strategic business development initiatives

Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies for clients, including group structuring, transaction planning, and optimization of tax positions, while ensuring compliance and minimizing risk.

Monitor and analyze changes in the tax and business landscape, sharing insights with clients and internal teams.

Champion thought leadership by contributing to publications, seminars, and industry forums.

Practice Management and continuous improvement

Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations in TRS and incorporate best practices into company processes.

Drive the adoption of technology and automation in tax processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and data integrity.
