As a highly experienced Senior Narrative Designer, you will shape the storytelling experience across our ambitious, systemic co-op titles. You’ll design the narrative systems and structures that enable player-driven stories in a live environment, while also contributing to writing that keeps millions of players engaged in a cohesive, ever-evolving universe.
##### What you'll do:
Own major narrative domains
- Design and document interconnected narrative systems that tie directly into gameplay.
- Build frameworks that keep lore, tone, and world history aligned across the entire game.
- Identify complex challenges early and break them into clear, actionable plans for the team.
Shape the voice of the game
- Write in-game text, VO, and supporting materials.
- Partner with Game Masters to design story-driven events in the Galactic War.
- Maintain a strong, consistent tone across all in-game and external communications.
- Lead the creation and upkeep of narrative style guides.
Bridge story and tech
- Work hands-on in the engine, scripting tools, and content systems.
- Prototype and debug narrative features independently.
- Develop strategies for live-service updates and community-driven storytelling.
Collaborate and mentor
- Partner with feature owners and directors to align the narrative vision across disciplines.
- Present and advocate for story ideas and narrative strategies.
- Mentor junior and mid-level narrative designers, raising the quality bar across the team.
##### Who you are:
- 5+ years of professional experience within Design in the games industry, with significant experience on large-scale, systemic, or live-service titles.
- Proven record of shipped game titles.
- A portfolio that demonstrates the design and implementation of narrative systems, preferably with emergent content.
- A portfolio that demonstrates excellent writing skills (English)
- Senior-level proficiency with modern game engines and scripting languages or visual scripting tools.
- Ability to lead and make high-stakes creative decisions under ambiguity.
- Excellent organizational skills, and experience with spreadsheets.
- Experience of narrative systems, preferably non-linear storytelling
- Exceptional communication skills in English, written and spoken.
- Must be able to spend at least 3 days per week in our Stockholm office.
