The Senior Operations Manager will lead a team responsible for managing key day-to-day operational processes across LSEG's Regulatory Reporting services, including overseeing the offshore team. This role ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and first-class service to customers while focusing on revenue growth and client demand. Key responsibilities include team leadership, stakeholder management, and change management to drive operational readiness and risk management. They are also expected to challenge the control environment for improvements. They need to ensure to track and complete business owned actions (Audit, Op Risk, SIRs, Compliance etc) and participate in the incident management process.
Must have:
  • 7+ years operations experience within financial markets.
  • Question existing processes, suggest improvements and challenge the status quo.
  • Lead and build strong relationships within and outside the company.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).

LSEG’s Regulatory Reporting is a software and data solutions business, offering global sell-side and buy-side clients a wide variety of products to assist with their obligations to report their transactions on a timely and accurate basis. We also provide a several ancillary services to ensure the accuracy and completeness of their reporting, (e.g reconciliations, data solutions).

Reporting to the Head of Operations of LSEG’s Regulatory Reporting, the Senior Operations Manager will lead a team responsible for the management of key day-to-day operational processes across the suite of LSEG’s Regulatory Reporting services including oversight of the offshore team. This role is central to ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance across our services, and alongside our Customer Success and Client Services teams, delivering a first-class service to our customers whilst maintaining a focus on revenue growth, client demand, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience.

Enter the key responsibilities of the role:

Leadership and Team Development

  • Execute on LSEG’s location strategy by leading and managing the performance of a new offshore operations team responsible for completing key operational activities, ensuring SLAs and regulatory deadlines are consistently met, fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence
  • Act as an escalation point for complex high-risk issues
  • Improve the overall effectiveness of our service offering working closely with Technology, Change and Compliance
  • Encompass a broad knowledge of other disciplines within the function and utilise market information to lead product development of operational tooling.

Stakeholder Management and Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support audits, inspections, and the successful implementation of new regulatory changes.
  • Represents LSEG Regulatory Reporting Operations internally and externally, deputising for more senior leaders at key meetings / internal committees / risk audit reviews
  • Shares key feedback from client engagements to internal stakeholders, communicating client insights across all LSEG Regulatory Reporting Services
  • Engineer positive outcomes from client engagements, successfully managing client escalations and aiding clients to work through issues or concerns.

Change Management

  • Drive operational readiness for new regulatory requirements, platform migrations or service enhancements.
  • Draws on external best practice and technical expertise to drive and embed operational improvement initiatives, reducing inefficiencies, improving workflows, proactively self-identifying issues reducing risk and setting out remediation plans
  • Lead/ contribute to wider Change initiatives and projects

Risk and Controls

  • Challenge the control environment for improvements to existing risks and controls, driving risk management culture & willing to leverage best in class practices across the Group
  • Design, implement and conduct regular reviews of KRI’s across the Business lines, identifying trends in emerging risks, challenging the existing KRI’s and MI reporting.
  • Track Business owned actions (Audit, Op Risk, SIRs, Compliance etc) through to completion, escalating any which are at risk of being overdue within a timely fashion.
  • Review / challenge the Operational Risk impacts to new projects, ensuring the right controls are in place to mitigate/reduce any existing or new risks introduced.
  • Participate in the Incident Management process, ensuring the right actions are in place to avoid future re-occurrences.

Enter the essential experience and skills required:

  • 7+ years’ Operations experience within the financial markets
  • Ability to question existing processes, articulating weaknesses and suggest improvements - challenge the status quo
  • Proven ability to lead, forge strong relationships both within and outside the company, establishing credibility with business and functional leads
  • Strong team ethic and proven ability to work collaboratively across team and department boundaries
  • Excellent at managing a wide network of stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) with proven ability to work effectively with all organisational levels
  • Experience of presenting to and interacting with senior audiences
  • Prior experience in management or team leadership roles, including offshore management responsibilities
  • Analytical mindset to make decisions based on data and simplify complex problems
  • Ability to identify customer needs and uncover opportunities to improve the customer experience.
