Job Summary

The Senior Operations Planner will lead a team of Operations Planners, overseeing the creation, management, and review of work orders to ensure alignment with achievable plans. This role involves managing the team's workload portfolio, collaborating with other functions to ensure timely and quality information, and monitoring production progress. The Senior Operations Planner is accountable for module work orders, resolving NCRs, and ensuring sub-components are available for manufacturing lines. They will also communicate delivery date achievability to stakeholders and aid in emergent work coordination.

Must Have

  • Lead a team of Operations Planners and Junior Operations Planners

Job Description

Role Purpose (Job Profile):

To lead a team of Operations Planners and Junior Operations Planners to achieve the teams purpose. Raising, managing and reviewing WOs to ensure they align with an achievable plan. Manage the portfolio of workload across the team to ensure that all projects are covered. Working alongside other functions to ensure that information is available for Operations Planning at the right time and to the right quality.

Main Duties:

  • Generating and managing accurate works orders (from pre-templated routing created by the methods engineers) through the factory,
  • Supported by the Junior Operations and Operations Planners, being accountable of the modules WOs, ensuring they are monitored through production and NCR’s are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Lead regular 1-2-1 with the Junior Operations and Operations Planners to support performance and individual development. Daily mentoring to align to development needs.
  • Day to day management of annual leave requests and time sheet approval. Ensuring that the minimum coverage is achieved.
  • Collaborate with Programme Managers to ensure work orders are raised to meet part quantities for the relevant target events.
  • Attend faults meetings when required and assist with feedback.
  • Work closely with the Scheduling to ensure that work lists generated for the departments are based on accurate priorities and delivery dates.
  • Responsible for ensuring all sub-components require to execute top level BOM works orders are available for the manufacturing lines to execute work.
  • Feedback achievability of delivery dates to the Programme and clearly communicate with relevant stakeholders when plans are not achievable.
  • Work with the Procurement team to expedite delivery of required works orders (in line with the plan).
  • Aid with the raising of repair works orders during the triage of Class 5 parts.
  • Raise, coordinate and feedback the achievability all emergent work, to include Service, Class 5, Faults and Repair.

Qualifications and Experience Level:

  • Proven experience in production control and scheduling.
  • Background in engineering is desired
  • Understanding of modern Composite and metallic production techniques is desired
  • Ideally experienced in Motorsport either professionally or as a hobby

  • Knowledge of CI principles
