PlayStation is seeking an experienced Senior Paralegal to work with some of the most exciting consumer brands! As Senior Paralegal you will work with a variety of business and legal teams to support the trademark and copyright programs across the full scope of PlayStation products and services. The person taking this position will join a dynamic team of intellectual property professionals responsible for trademark and copyright matters globally.

Responsibilities:

  • Instructing, docketing, and managing trademark filings worldwide.
  • Conducting trademark database searches and common law searches and preparing clearance report for attorney review.
  • Corresponding with business teams concerning trademark clearance, trademark applications, trademark registration maintenance, and trademark usage.
  • Preparing US trademark prosecution and maintenance filings for attorney review, including applications and renewals.
  • Diligence trademark registration renewals and issuing instructions.
  • Providing guidance internally regarding proper use of trademarks.
  • Preparing and prosecuting copyright applications.
  • Supporting enforcement matters.
  • Assisting with conflict matters, including managing evidence and documents for trademark oppositions and cancellations and domain disputes.
  • Reviewing product documentation for trademark use and intellectual property notices.
  • Assisting in process improvements and development of process documentation.
  • Developing documentation and other resources for use by employees and partners.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience as a trademark paralegal with high-level responsibilities on a global trademark portfolio.
  • At least 1 year of experience supporting trademark activity at a law firm.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Highly detail-oriented and strong proofreading skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to consistently plan, organize, work independently, think critically, meet deadlines, and remain flexible in a multi-task environment.
  • General knowledge of domestic and foreign trademark law, policies, and processes.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products, particularly MS Word and Excel, and with intellectual property docketing software.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
