Job Description

The Senior Payroll Administrator is responsible for accurately calculating, preparing, and distributing payroll for AU employees in a timely manner. This role involves processing fortnightly payroll, managing updates, handling garnishments, and ensuring Single Touch Payroll reporting. Key duties include supporting internal and external audits, assisting with month-end closing, and submitting superannuation and payroll tax. The administrator will also lead year-end reconciliations, monitor legislative changes, and resolve employee payroll inquiries, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
Must have:
  • Process fortnightly payroll for AU employees.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll updates.
  • Review and interpret garnishment notices.
  • Perform Single Touch Payroll reporting and lodgment in AU payroll.
  • Manage employee’s payroll queries.
  • Support Payroll internal and external audits.
  • Assist in month-end closing process, including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations.
  • Submit Superannuation and Payroll Tax on timely manner.
  • Lead year-end reconciliation, reporting, and audit processes.
  • Monitor changes in payroll legislation and update processes and documentation.
  • 5+ years of experience end-to-end processing medium to large size company payroll.
  • Knowledge of legislative and compliance requirements in relation to taxation, superannuation/pension and other statutory obligations.
  • Experience with large ERP system, preferably Workday, SAP and ADP Dayforce.
  • Deep expertise in payroll legislation and security regulations in APAC.
  • EBA, Award understanding.
  • Experience with Post Payroll Tasks - Costing, GL, Super, Payroll Tax.

The Payroll Administrator ensures compliance with established company policies and procedures while effectively addressing employee inquiries. Typically, this position operates with minimal instruction on daily tasks and receives general guidance for new assignments. Collaboration with both the direct team and wider groups is essential for successful execution of responsibilities.

Job Details:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process Fortnightly payroll for AU employees, including salary adjustments, benefits, and related deductions
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll updates (new hires, terminations, pay rate changes).
  • Review and interpret garnishment notices, calculate deduction amounts, and prepare remittance checks along with necessary documentation.
  • Single Touch Payroll reporting and lodgment in AU payroll.
  • Manage employee’s payroll queries to provide effective resolution on timely manner.
  • Support Payroll internal and external audits to provide respective documentation as required.
  • Assisting in the month-end closing process, including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations
  • Superannuation and Payroll Tax submission on timely manner
  • Lead year-end reconciliation, reporting, and audit processes.
  • Monitor changes in payroll legislation and update processes and documentation accordingly.
  • Review all reconciliation process and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Develop payroll and compliance audit for monthly, quarterly and annual audit process.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Ensure payroll documentation are saved properly Payroll Folder Management

BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience end-to-end processing medium to large size company payroll
  • Knowledge of legislative and compliance requirements in relation to taxation, superannuation/pension and other statutory obligations
  • Experience with large ERP system, preferably Workday, SAP and ADP Dayforce/ Workday a plus
  • Ability to multi-task with attention to details and minimal supervision
  • Deep expertise in payroll legislation and security regulations in APAC.
  • Proven track record in managing regulatory compliance, handling authority audits, and resolving payroll-related compliance issues.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in data analysis, reconciliations, and risk identification.
  • EBA, Award understanding
  • Post Payroll Tasks - Costing, GL, Super, Payroll Tax
