Lightspeed LA seeks a Senior QA Tester to contribute to their new AAA open-world game project in Irvine, CA. Responsibilities include designing and executing functional and non-functional tests, writing bugs, managing bug tracking databases, creating test plans, tracking quality metrics, documenting information, and collaborating with internal/external teams. The ideal candidate possesses 3-5 years of QA experience in a full development lifecycle, experience with console and 1st-party certification testing, and strong communication and collaboration skills. This role involves utilizing test management software, wikis, and potentially automation test setups. The successful candidate will be passionate about games and possess a drive for growth.

Lightspeed LA is seeking a Senior QA Tester earnest to work on a new project in Irvine California. They will get to flex their QA muscles and apply their skills on a AAA open world project. Responsibilities: 

  • Design and execute functional and non-functional testing.
  • Write up bugs and be able to manage a bug tracking database. 
  • Identify and assess risks and their impacts to the project.
  • Create comprehensive test plans to ensure coverage of the game through test management software.
  • Track metrics and overall quality to generate informative reports regularly.
  • Document information efficiently on a database wiki.
  • Communicate QA findings, updates, and assessments with internal and external team members.
  • Collaboration and leadership with all team members where it is impactful.
  • Maintain well versed knowledge of the overall game, development processes, and test tools in support of the project.
  • Utilize, design, and create automation test setups that can scale with project needs.

Requirements:

  • Passion for video games with experience and knowledge you can draw upon.
  • 3-5 years of QA testing experience having gone through an entire development life cycle on at least one project.
  • Experience working in a bug database.
  • Experience in developing test plans.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills while utilizing strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Console and 1st party certification testing.
  • Experience with using a wiki to share knowledge efficiently to a team.

Pluses

  • Experience working with external developers and QA groups.
  • Familiarity with any game engine, programming, scripting, or automating testing.
  • Experience with A11Y compliance.
  • Experience collaborating directly with developers.

The base pay range for this position in the state(s) above is $69,600.0 to $94,141.0 per year. Actual pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as other medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the specific position offered.
