Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior SailPoint Developer to lead identity and access management (IAM) projects within our enterprise environment. This role is pivotal in supporting, enhancing, and maintaining SailPoint IdentityIQ implementations, ensuring robust security controls and compliance. As a senior member of the team, you will collaborate across technical teams to deliver scalable IAM solutions that align with business objectives and regulatory standards, contributing to operational efficiency and security resilience.
Software Requirements
Required Skills:
- Extensive hands-on experience with SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ) including onboarding, rule creation, object configuration, and application integration
- Proficiency in core Java development for customization and extension of SailPoint functionalities
- Strong understanding of IAM concepts, including RBAC, SODs, role mining, and access provisioning
- Experience with API integrations via SCIM, web services, and REST APIs
- Knowledge of scripting languages to develop or customize workflows (e.g., Java, Groovy, or similar)
- Familiarity with version control tools such as Git
- Basic understanding of enterprise ticketing platforms like Remedy or JIRA for provisioning and workflow integration
Preferred Skills:
- Understanding of cloud IAM solutions or cloud migration considerations
- Knowledge of LDAP, Active Directory, or other directory services
- Experience with SailPoint out-of-the-box connectors and customizing them
Overall Responsibilities
- Lead design, implementation, and support of SailPoint IdentityIQ solutions, including onboarding applications, roles, certifications, reports, and workflows
- Support the full SDLC (requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and support) in line with organizational standards and Agile practices
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve IAM issues to minimize orphan accounts and access anomalies
- Develop and deploy automation utilities and enhancements to improve operational efficiency of IAM processes
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to incorporate new features, perform upgrades, and resolve platform issues
- Conduct regular performance reviews of IAM processes post-change deployment to ensure stability and security compliance
- Document technical solutions, process workflows, and support artifacts for knowledge sharing and audits
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and assist in feasibility analysis for cloud migrations and emerging IAM technologies

Programming Languages:
- Essential: Java, Groovy (for customization and workflow development)
- Preferred: Python, JavaScript for automation scripting
Databases & Data Management:
- Basic understanding of relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) for audit reports and data analysis
Cloud Technologies:
- Preferred: Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) with focus on IAM aspects
Frameworks & Libraries:
- Familiarity with API standards (SCIM, REST) and integration protocols
Development Tools & Methodologies:
- Essential: Git, Agile/Scrum practices, version control, DevOps methodologies
- Preferred: CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bitbucket pipelines)

Experience Requirements
- 7 to 10 years of professional experience in IAM, with deep focus on SailPoint IdentityIQ implementations
- Proven success managing complex identity management projects, including onboarding, provisioning, and role management
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and translate business requirements into technical IAM solutions
- Experience supporting identity security policies, SOD, and role mining workflows
- Prior experience with enterprise IT environments and vendor support collaborations preferred
Day-to-Day Activities
- Implement and customize SailPoint IdentityIQ applications and components to meet project requirements
- Conduct system configuration, testing, and deployment activities, ensuring compliance with organizational standards
- Troubleshoot identity and access issues, providing timely resolutions and root cause analysis
- Develop scripts and utilities to automate manual processes, enhancing operational efficiency
- Liaise with vendors (like Cloudera or other platform providers) for platform support and feature enhancements
- Perform regular system performance reviews and capacity planning exercises
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to team members and stakeholders
- Maintain documentation of configurations, workflows, and system changes
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Equivalent professional experience in IAM or identity management
Certifications (Preferred):
- SailPoint Certified IdentityIQ Engineer or similar IAM certifications

- Commitment to ongoing learning related to identity security, cloud IAM solutions, and emerging technologies
