Job Description
SS&C Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a hybrid role in Denver, CO. This position involves developing new features, conducting code reviews, participating in agile ceremonies, and contributing to tool adoption. The engineer will continuously expand their business domain knowledge, collaborate with various teams, and take ownership of innovation and technical debt initiatives. Key responsibilities include designing, documenting, and communicating system solutions while balancing time, quality, cost, and performance.
Must Have:
- Develop new features at a high level of quality
- Conduct peer reviews of code
- Participate in daily Stand-Ups, change analysis sessions, and technical presentations
- Provide input to tool and environment adoption guidance
- Continuously develop business domain knowledge and comprehension of the Calastone business
- Work closely with tech leads, engineers, testers, and auxiliary personnel
- Take ownership of specific initiatives in innovation or technical debt
- Design, document and communicate system solutions ensuring a good balance of time, quality, cost and performance
- Demonstrate a deep and thorough comprehension of C# at a mature commercial level
- Proficiency in .NET Core and related open-source technologies
- Understanding of Object Orientation, SOA, and related design patterns
- Experience with modern software development practices: agile, version control, code reviews, continuous integration
- Knowledge of Concurrency, asynchrony, and parallelism
- Experience with Test Driven Development - Unit Testing frameworks, mocking frameworks, and patterns for testability
- Familiarity with Relational database concepts, Microsoft SQL Server and SQL
- Proficiency in Front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience with Web API design and implementation
- Knowledge of the mutual funds industry or related financial experience
