Job Description

This Senior Software Engineer role at Google focuses on Machine Learning for Platforms and Devices. Responsibilities include writing product/system development code, leading design reviews, partnering with researchers to build AI capabilities, and collaborating with product teams to create innovative user experiences. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in software development, machine learning algorithms (TensorFlow, etc.), and applied research. Leadership experience and working in complex organizations are preferred. The role involves launching new product features and contributing to Google's next-generation intelligent systems.

Must have:

8+ years software development experience
5+ years testing and launching software products
3+ years experience with machine learning algorithms and tools
Experience with applied research on machine learning models
Strong software design and architecture skills
Proficient in data structures and algorithms

Good to have:

Master's or PhD in a related field
3+ years technical leadership experience
Experience with Machine Learning infrastructure
Experience in complex, matrixed organizations

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
5 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
3 years of experience with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g., TensorFlow), artificial intelligence, deep learning, or natural language processing.
Experience with applied research on machine learning models.
Experience with cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred qualifications:

Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
Experience with Machine Learning infrastructure.
