KRAFTON India is seeking a Senior Technical Artist to bridge the gap between art and engineering. This role involves creating stunning visual effects, developing advanced shaders, and establishing an optimized art pipeline for mobile performance. The artist will ensure the game's visual quality while maintaining smooth operation across various devices, contributing to the overall aesthetic and technical excellence of the game.
Good To Have:
  • Experience with procedural content generation tools (e.g., Houdini).
  • Familiarity with creating custom Unity scriptable rendering pipelines.
  • Strong traditional art skills.
Must Have:
  • Ability to breakdown complex effects into visual building blocks.
  • Design, create, and implement high-quality VFX for abilities, weapons, and environments.
  • Develop and maintain a library of custom shaders to achieve desired visual style and maximize performance.
  • Define and enforce technical art standards, including budgets for polys, textures, and draw calls.
  • Build tools and scripts to automate and streamline the art creation and integration pipeline.
  • Profile and optimize art assets, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with engineers and artists to research and implement new rendering techniques and technologies.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Artist in the game industry.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing high-quality VFX, shader work, and scripting.
  • Deep understanding of rendering pipelines, lighting, and post-processing in Unity.
  • Proficiency with shader languages (HLSL/Cg) and scripting (C#).
  • Proven experience in performance optimization for mobile platforms.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Technical Artist to be the crucial link between our art and engineering teams. You will be responsible for creating stunning visual effects, developing advanced shaders, and establishing an art pipeline that is highly optimized for mobile performance. Your expertise will ensure our game looks amazing while running smoothly on a wide spectrum of devices, from low-spec to high-end.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to breakdown complex effects into visual building blocks
  • Design, create, and implement high-quality VFX for abilities, weapons, and environments.
  • Develop and maintain a library of custom shaders to achieve the desired visual style while maximizing performance.
  • Define and enforce technical art standards, including budgets for polys, textures, and draw calls.
  • Build tools and scripts to automate and streamline the art creation and integration pipeline.
