Job Summary
Reporting to the Game Director, the Technical Director will leverage technology to create and deliver the title in expected scope, quality and time. Responsibilities include setting up efficient cross-discipline workflows, contributing C++ code for various game systems, identifying and solving complex technical problems, ensuring best coding practices, developing tools, and supporting team development.
Must Have
- Work closely with Programming, Production, Design, QA, Art, and Animation teams.
- Serve as a UE5 expert, contributing clean, maintainable C++ code.
- Identify and solve complex technical problems, including debugging, profiling, and optimizing.
- Ensure the game is built with the right methodology and best coding practices.
- Propose and develop the best tools and development processes.
- Ensure debugging, optimization, and TRCs are part of the development process.
- Help with recruitment, on-boarding, development, and professional training of the team.
- Inspire and motivate the team as a coach.
- Propose solutions to improve project development in the studio.
- Identify project risks and contingency plans.
- At least 10 years of game development experience.
- At least 3 years in a leadership position (Lead Programmer, Engineering Manager, Technical Lead, Technical Director).
- Proven track record of shipping multiple commercial AA/AAA titles, with at least one using Unreal Engine.
- Deep hands-on expertise with Unreal Engine 4 or 5.
- Strong proficiency in C++/C# and Blueprints scripting.
- Good understanding of modern game engine architecture, systems design, 3D math, physics, networking, and rendering pipelines.
- Demonstrated excellence in leader roles.

Reporting to the Game Director, the Technical Director will leverage technology to create and deliver the title in expected scope, quality and time.
Your responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Programming, Production, Design, QA, Art and Animation teams, setting up efficient cross-discipline workflows, and communicating technical concepts and trade-offs between disciplines.
- Serve as a UE5 expert, contributing clean, maintainable C++ code for rendering, core tech, gameplay mechanics, UI, networking and tools as needed.
- Identify and solve complex technical problems, including debugging, profiling and optimizing for performance across current and next-gen platforms (PC/Consoles).
- Ensure that the game is being built with the right methodology and best coding practices, tech briefs, code reviews and keeping in mind long-term quality and potential future code reuse.
- Propose and develop the best tools and development processes to secure the team’s efficiency.
- Make sure that elements like debugging, optimization and TRCs are part of the development process to guarantee a smooth finish.
- Help out with recruitment, on-boarding, development and professional training of the team.
- Take the role of the coach: inspire, motivate rather than direct.
- Propose solutions to improve the development of the projects in the studio.
- Identify project risks and the contingency plans to put in place with the team.
Job requirements
Requirements:
- At least 10 years of game development experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership position (Lead Programmer, Engineering Manager, Technical Lead, Technical Director) in PC or console AA/AAA games.
- Proven track record of having shipped multiple commercial AA/AAA titles, with at least one utilizing Unreal Engine.
- Deep hands-on expertise with Unreal Engine 4 or 5, including strong proficiency in C++/C# and Blueprints scripting.
- Good understanding of modern game engine architecture, systems design, 3D math, physics, networking and rendering pipelines.
- Demonstrated excellence in leader roles, with ability to motivate, influence, and inspire at all levels.
- Ability to articulate a strong vision of technology as a means to customer value.
