Senior Software Quality Engineer

The Spatial Intelligence QA team within Apple's Vision Products Group (VPG) is seeking a driven and dedicated senior software quality engineer.

As the Sr. Software Quality Engineer, you will work in a cross-functional team which is developing innovative computer vision algorithms and applications. You will work closely with software engineers, management, other Apple QA teams, and will contribute new work to the Quality Plan and educate various software engineering teams on writing appropriate requirements and test plans. You will ensure that Apple delivers the next generation products with the highest quality. You will triage and debug difficult problems, driving them to resolution, in an effort to make the user experience great. Your responsibilities will include defining test coverage, developing test plans, creating and maintaining test cases, executing functional and performance tests, evaluating and reporting quality of existing technologies and new features, developing and maintaining test tools, and implementing test automation. You will carry a great deal of influence across the software engineering organization and as such, top candidates will demonstrate previous success achieving certification of the highest quality standards.

• Develop test plans, assess risk, file appropriate defects, and provide relevant data for test reporting.
• Identify critical areas to test for new features.
• Triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose a resolution.
• Present complex test data; present and communicate test reports.
• Able to work independently, raise issues and take corrective action.

• BS or MS in CS/CE or equivalent experience in QA.
• 5+ years of relevant domain experience and in QA Engineering.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and testing tools.
• Passion for quality and desire to work on cutting edge technologies.

• Experience in acting as a Lead QA Engineer.
• Knowledge in the field of Computer Vision and Machine Learning.
• Experience with Mixed Reality or Virtual Reality technologies.
• Familiarity with macOS, iOS and Xcode.
• Proficient with Python or Swift programming languages.
• Knowledge/ability in a foreign language is a plus.
• Experience testing consumer products.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $172,100 and $258,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
