Nasdaq is seeking a Senior Specialist – Product Delivery for its Trade Surveillance product delivery team in Sydney, Australia. This permanent full-time hybrid role involves driving innovation in Market Abuse detection technology. The specialist will identify client needs, align them with strategy, and implement solutions. Key responsibilities include translating product strategy into roadmaps, communicating customer needs to development teams, prioritizing requirements, managing risks, and ensuring quality. The role requires a collaborative, analytical approach to solving business problems and engaging with various stakeholders.
Must have:
  • Translate the product strategy into a roadmap, metrics, and desired functionality expressed as stories in the product backlog.
  • Communicate the voice of the customer to the development team and handle customer expectations.
  • Turn customer pains and problems into actionable user stories in the backlog.
  • Provide guidance of product functionality to development teams.
  • Understand, define, and communicate the prioritization of product requirements.
  • Actively handle business risks, issues, & impediments expressed by the delivery team.
  • Attend agile ceremonies to ensure that development work is aligned with the roadmap.
  • Build quality into acceptance criteria and accept all work increments produced by the development team.
  • Track progress on release and completion.
  • Integrate with other business product lines and technology to align product’s strategy.
  • Manage risks of judgment with a serious impact on the success of your product.
  • Supports innovative strategic thinking by identifying and communicating industry trends and opportunities.
  • At least 4 years of global experience in a Trade Surveillance or Surveillance Product role.
  • Experience using JIRA and Confluence.
  • Data analytics skills working in tools such as Excel, Filters, Pivot Tables etc.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate closely with external clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency status.

  • Agile product experience
  • Proficiency in R, Python, or Notebook
  • Experience in the functionality and use of Nasdaq Trade Surveillance (NTS) core application
  • Deep understanding of Nasdaq Trade Surveillance (NTS) alerts and Fav data

What You Will Do

We are looking for a Senior Specialist – Product Delivery within the Nasdaq Trade Surveillance product delivery team. The role is based in Sydney with the Product Management team supporting Nasdaq’s Cross Product Surveillance project.

Working directly with the Alerts Development team, the Global Research and Innovation team, and the broader NTS global business units, you will be driving forward the latest innovation in Market Abuse detection technology. You will be responsible for identifying client needs, aligning them with the broader strategy and then driving the implementation of the solutions that tackle our customers’ biggest challenges.

You will be expected to:

Implement the Vision – Translate the product strategy into a roadmap, metrics, and desired functionality expressed as stories in the product backlog.

Translate Desires – Communicate the voice of the customer to the development team and handle customer expectations as you turn their pains and problems into actionable user stories in the backlog. Provide guidance of product functionality to development teams.

Prioritize Needs – Understand, define, and communicate the prioritization of product requirements expressed as stories in the product backlog with a mind toward business value, flow, and tradeoffs.

Act as a Servant Leader – Actively handle business risks, issues, & impediments expressed by the delivery team. Attend agile ceremonies to ensure that development work is aligned with the roadmap.

Improve Quality – Build quality into acceptance criteria and accept all work increments produced by the development team. Track progress on release and completion. Integrate with the other business product lines and technology to align your product’s strategy with the overall needs directed by the business line and technology executives.

Level of Complexity – Manage risks of judgment with a serious impact on the success of your product. Supports innovative strategic thinking by identifying and communicating industry trends and opportunities.

What We Expect

  • A degree or equivalent experience in Business/Finance, Computer Science or field
  • At least 4 years of global experience in a Trade Surveillance or Surveillance Product role
  • A collaborative spirit, able to translate customer requirements clearly into user stories
  • An understanding of the customers’ business and the ability to creatively solve for the “jobs to be done”
  • An analytical approach to solving business problems through iterative practices
  • Experience using JIRA and Confluence
  • Data analytics skills working in tools such as Excel, Filters, Pivot Tables etc.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate closely with external clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • A strong inner drive and motivation, growing in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to take some meetings outside of work hours
