The Senior Structural Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, calculation, and specification of structural engineering, including structural steel, concrete, masonry, and timber construction, structures, and other individual facilities or attractions, area development elements, land, or themed park projects. Core responsibilities include independently undertaking structural engineering design, analysis, calculation, and specification development for projects of medium complexity with minimal supervision, experience in structural engineering design in concrete, steel, and wood structures, and organizing and developing project design standards and engineering work plans for projects of varying complexity. This also involves monitoring work progress, ensuring technical quality, interdisciplinary coordination, and production requirements are met, as well as monitoring project design progress, budget, and earned value. The role requires the ability to edit the structural section of the Walt Disney Imagineering Master Specification, proactively seek peer reviews of work products, and obtain building department approvals when necessary. Additionally, the engineer will answer questions during construction bidding and respond to and resolve site issues and queries, and provide technical guidance to internal engineers and designers and external consultants to produce construction contract documents.
