Must have:
  • Research and analyse New Zealand tax law to write detailed commentary and practical information for tax professionals.
  • Produce updates on announcements and changes in New Zealand tax law, covering all developments.
  • Use expertise in income tax, GST, and other related areas to enhance and update content.
  • Conduct ongoing reviews of existing content to refine and enhance it and participate in content development.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the needs of tax professionals and create content to meet these needs.
  • Direct, influence, and coordinate external writing contributors, ensuring content quality and technical accuracy.
Good to have:
  • 8+ years accounting firm or law firm experience providing tax advice in New Zealand or tax content publishing experience in New Zealand.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce, law or a related field.
  • Strong writing, analytical and editing skills.
  • Ability to translate complex tax laws into practical information.
  • Keen attention to detail and a passion for creating accurate, high-quality research information.
  • Open to transitioning from public practice to a publishing/content solutions role.
  • Ability to coordinate tasks and manage deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to understand and meet the needs of tax professionals.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Content creation: Research and analyse New Zealand tax law to write detailed commentary and practical information for tax professionals, accessible via our online research platform, CCH iKnowConnect
  • Current awareness: Produce updates on announcements and changes in New Zealand tax law, covering all developments.
  • Subject matter expertise: Use your expertise in income tax, GST, and other related areas to enhance and update our content.
  • Content review: Conduct ongoing reviews of existing content to refine and enhance it and participate in content development.
  • Customer understanding: Develop a thorough understanding of the needs of tax professionals, including accounting firms, in-house tax teams, and law firms. Create content to meet these needs and support sales, marketing, and customer support teams.
  • External coordination: Direct, influence, and coordinate external writing contributors, ensuring content quality and technical accuracy.

About You:

  • Experience: 8+ years accounting firm or law firm experience providing tax advice in New Zealand or tax content publishing experience in New Zealand
  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce, law or a related field
  • Skills: Strong writing, analytical and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex tax laws into practical information.
  • Detail-Oriented: Keen attention to detail and a passion for creating accurate, high-quality research information.
  • Adaptability: Open to transitioning from public practice to a publishing/content solutions role with the ability to coordinate tasks and manage deadlines effectively.
