Job Description

Deel is a global payroll and HR platform enabling businesses to hire and manage international teams compliantly. As a Senior Tax Manager, you will be responsible for implementing tax processes, managing direct and indirect tax aspects globally, and monitoring the Group’s tax policy within the Asia-Pacific region. This role involves ensuring adherence to tax regulations, investigating new tax laws, and collaborating with various internal teams and external advisors on tax matters.
Good To Have:
  • Law degree, CPA, and/or MBA.
Must Have:
  • Implement worldwide tax processes and international tax planning in Asia-Pacific.
  • Manage global direct and indirect tax aspects (Corporate, Federal, State, VAT, GST, Sales, Withholding).
  • Review tax implications for international mobile employees or contractors.
  • Monitor the Group’s tax policy and handle tax audits globally.
  • Ensure adherence to tax regulations and investigate new tax laws.
  • Assist Finance, Legal/Sales/operations teams with tax matters and training.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Taxation from an APAC country.
  • 5-6 years of related experience in a large MNC or Big 4 firm.
  • Solid tax knowledge and familiarity with worldwide tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools and Web applications.
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal, oral, writing).

With our momentum—backed by a $12 billion valuation and $1 B in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) in just over five years—you'll drive meaningful impact while building expertise that makes you a sought-after leader in the transformation of global work. ## Responsibilities * Implementing tax processes worldwide as well as domestic and international tax planning within Asia-Pacific. * Managing direct and indirect tax aspects globally, including Corporate, Federal and State tax, VAT, GST, Sales tax, Withholding tax and other levies. * Review the tax implications of international mobile employees or contractors. * Monitoring the Group’s tax policy (Transfer pricing studies, tax structures etc) and handling tax audits on a worldwide basis. * Adhering to tax regulations and investigating new tax laws and developments and their respective impacts on the Company. * Assisting the Finance team and Legal/Sales/operations team with tax matters, questions, tax training and collaborating with outside advisors. ## Requirements * Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Taxation in an APAC country. * Law degree and/or CPA and/or MBA a strong plus. * 5/6 years of related experience in a large MNC and/or a Big 4 firm. * Solid tax knowledge and familiar with worldwide tax regulations and standards interpretation. * Experienced communicator with the ability to influence and motivate others to implement and maintain a culture of continuous improvement in connection with cross-organization processes. * Efficient and creative problem-solver, comfortable with ambiguity, complexity, and nuance. * Computer software skills: Proficient in MS Office tools and Web applications; Knowledge with trading systems. * Strong analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills. * Excellent communicational (both verbal and oral) as well as writing skills in English. * Ability to work closely with others in a team environment and be able to establish positive working relationships. * Independently driven with the ability to work as a part of a team in a multinational environment while maintaining a high degree of professionalism. ## Total Rewards Our workforce deserves fair and competitive pay that meets them where they are.
