Job Summary

Aptiv is seeking a Senior Technical Lead for BSP Functional Safety Engineering to contribute to advanced safety systems for future mobility. This role involves collecting and analyzing Functional Safety (FuSa) requirements, creating safety concepts, performing safety analysis (FMEA/FTA), and defining safety mechanisms. The lead will support SW architecture development for FuSa compliance, define FS validation plans, and utilize expertise in embedded systems, BSPs for various OS (Linux, QNX, FreeRTOS/SafeRTOS, VxWorks), and tools like JIRA and Polarion, while adhering to ISO 26262 and ASPICE standards.

Must Have

  • Collect and analyze Functional Safety (FuSa) requirements.
  • Create Functional Safety concept and perform safety analysis.
  • Review work products for compliance to safety plan.
  • Define Safety mechanisms.
  • Support SW Architect in developing FuSa compliant SW architecture.
  • Perform Safety analysis (Dependent Failure analysis & FMEA/FTA).
  • Define FS validation plan.
  • Further develop professional qualifications.
  • Support innovation and organization programs.

  • Implement and maintain BSPs for automotive ECUs.
  • Apply ISO 26262 rules.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers.
  • Customize and configure BSP components.
  • Implement BSPs for Linux, QNX, FreeRTOS/SafeRTOS, or VxWorks.
  • Configure kernel parameters, device drivers, and system utilities.
  • Configure and integrate tools such as JIRA and Polarion.
  • Conduct BSP verification activities.
  • Adhere to Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process requirements.
  • Perform static analysis, unit testing, and integration testing.
  • B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech/MSc degree in Electronics or Computer Science.
  • 14+ years of experience in technical skills.
  • Great expert in a specific technical domain.
  • Prior experience in designing and programming microcontrollers and processors.
  • Three SW project lifecycles at Aptiv or similar company.
  • Team oriented.
  • Honesty in relation with company, customers and co-workers.

Position Overview:

  • Collect and analyze Functional Safety (FuSa) requirements,
  • Create Functional Safety concept, perform safety analysis and review work products according to their compliancy to this plan

Technical Skills:

  • Utilize expertise in embedded systems design and development to implement and maintain Board Support Packages (BSPs) for automotive electronic control units (ECUs)
  • Apply ISO 26262 rules to fulfill Functional Safety requirements
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to define hardware requirements and specifications, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance of BSPs on target hardware platforms
  • Customize and configure BSP components such as device drivers, bootloaders to meet specific project requirements and ECU specifications
  • Implement BSPs for Linux or QNX or FreeRTOS/SafeRTOS or VxWorks operating systems, ensuring seamless integration and compatibility with automotive software stacks and applications
  • Configure kernel parameters, device drivers, and system utilities to support ECU functionality and meet performance, reliability, and safety requirements
  • Configure and integrate tools such as JIRA and Polarion to streamline development workflows and ensure software quality and reliability
  • Conduct BSP verification activities and adhere to Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process requirements for software development and quality assurance
  • Perform static analysis, unit testing, and integration testing of BSP components to verify compliance with functional safety standards and ECU specifications

Requirements and Experience:

Required:

  • B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech/MSc degree in Electronics or Computer Science or related
  • 14+ years of experience in the technical skills mentioned
  • Great expert in a specific technical domain
  • Prior experience in designing and programming microcontrollers and processors
  • Three SW project lifecycles at Aptiv or a company with a similar engineering process.
  • Team oriented
  • Honesty in relation with company, customers and co-workers

Preferred:

  • Experience in coordinating SW project
  • Good in leadership
  • Availability as required
