Join our team as a Splunk Sales Engineer, helping companies redefine how they use information for decision-making. This role leads the evaluation phase of the sales process, acting as a key advisor for Splunk's innovative products to sales teams, customers, and partners. You will function as a trusted functional specialist, communicating the value of Splunk's technology to both technical and business customers, developing customized solutions, and building strong relationships throughout the sales cycle. You will also lead technology evaluation phases, respond to RFPs/RFIs, participate in complex proof-of-concept events, and contribute to overall customer satisfaction.
Must Have
- Competent pre-sales/technical sales experience in a software vendor environment.
- Ability to conduct discovery sessions to understand customer business goals and demonstrate Splunk solutions.
- Experience in creating detailed RFI/RFP responses, showing credibility and technical acumen.
- Strong team player excelling in technical evaluation phases and contributing as a key technical advisor.
- Excellent knowledge of general IT technologies and ability to research technical content for demonstrations.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to identify all technical issues for assigned accounts to ensure customer satisfaction through UEM.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel as required.

What this role does
- Act as a trusted functional specialist, communicating the value of Splunk's technology and applications to both technical and business customers.
- Develop customized solutions by understanding and addressing the prominent needs and challenges of each customer.
- Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with various customers, from technical staff to senior management, throughout the sales cycle.
- Lead technology evaluation phases, independently guiding prospects and customers through technical questions and solution exploration.
- Efficiently and appropriately respond to the functional and technical elements of RFPs and RFIs, driving comprehensive, customer-centric solutions.
- Participate in complex Proof of Concept/Proof of Value events, collaborating with teams of diverse strengths to establish success criteria and communicate valuable outcomes.
- Quickly adapt to new tools and processes, making valuable contributions to the continuous improvement of the Solution Engineering team.
- Competent participation in the Integrated Engagement Model (UEM) for moderately complex accounts and/or collaboration with broader teams. (The Integrated Engagement Model here refers to activities that continuously cycle through, including not only proposals for initial implementation but also subsequent utilization and discovery of new use cases, in collaboration with broader roles such as sales and customer success, to realize the value sought by the customer.)
- Enhance overall customer satisfaction throughout all stages of the sales lifecycle.
- Collaborate with marketing to build impactful content and showcase Splunk's value at marketing and industry events.
- Possess the ability to present and promote Splunk's products and services through engaging presentations and webinars, both on-site and at industry events.
Required Application Conditions
- Competent pre-sales/technical sales experience in a software vendor environment. Proven track record in technical software vendor sales.
- Ability to conduct discovery sessions to understand customer business goals and demonstrate how Splunk can provide targeted solutions.
- Experience in creating detailed responses to RFI/RFP, demonstrating credibility and technical acumen.
- A strong team player who excels in technical evaluation phases and actively contributes as a key technical advisor.
- Excellent knowledge of our general IT technologies. Ability to research technical content when necessary to provide practical demonstrations.
- Possess excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently to solve, identify problems, and propose strategies to mitigate risks.
- Ability to identify all technical issues for assigned accounts to ensure customer satisfaction throughout the UEM process. Establish and maintain good relationships with customer technical decision-makers and staff.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Technical Literacy:
- Server platforms such as Unix and Windows, and hypervisor management.
- Network management.
- Knowledge of enterprise applications and middleware.
- Knowledge of major cloud services (AWS / GCP / Azure).
- Knowledge of IT architecture.
- Common scripting languages (Python, PHP, R, etc.).
