What You'll Bring:
The Senior Technical Writer will play a key role on the growing TransUnion Marketing Solutions Knowledge Lab Team. In this remote role, you’ll develop user guides, technical process documentation, and training materials that support post-sales solutions for both internal teams and external customers.
- 5+ years of experience creating technical documentation for products and processes using industry-standard tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Journalism, English, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on experience documenting complex technical domains such as software development, engineering, or computer science.
- Proven ability to produce SOPs, FAQs, product manuals, internal process docs, and release notes for varied audiences.
- Skilled in identifying documentation needs and applying best practices to deliver clear, user-focused content.
- Strong analytical mindset with a passion for simplifying complex concepts.
- Experience in video content creation, including scripting, directing, recording, and editing.
- Effective collaborator across distributed teams; brings initiative, adaptability, and diplomacy.
- Familiar with Design Thinking principles to create intuitive, user-centered documentation.
- Comfortable leading documentation efforts with limited SME access and driving clarity from ambiguity.
- Proficient in developing and maintaining cross-functional process flows.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
Impact You'll Make:
- Collaborate with product managers and SMEs to develop and maintain product documentation, including manuals, process guides, training materials, and technical content.
- Create clear, accurate documentation using industry-standard technical writing tools.
- Partner with the Training team to develop materials that support internal education on products and solutions.
- Maintain and improve the internal knowledge base to centralize documentation and support product-related inquiries.
- Audit and organize existing documentation repositories; revise, edit, and implement centralized storage solutions.
- Design and maintain user-friendly documentation templates to ensure consistency and ease of use.
- Remote role based in Costa Rica; occasional in-person attendance at work-related events may be required at management’s discretion.
What We’d Love to See:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with strong prioritization and time management.
- Skilled in creating visuals, screen captures, and diagrams using tools like Adobe Creative Cloud and SnagIt.
- Strong editing and proofreading skills; able to review both personal and peer content for grammar, structure, and technical accuracy.
- Experience with MadCap Flare or similar online help authoring tools.
- Proficient in SharePoint Communication sites and web design using HTML and CSS.
- Familiar with Articulate 360, LMS platforms, and supporting training content development.
- Experience in UX design and product improvement initiatives.
- Experience documenting APIs and creating developer-facing content.
- Domain knowledge in digital marketing.
This is a remote position which may require occasional in-person attendance at work-related events at the discretion of management.
