Job description

Why do we need a Lead Writer Production?

We are looking for a Lead Writer Production to drive the execution and integration of all narrative content in our AAA project Age of Bharat. This person will act as both a production anchor and a lead for writers, ensuring that dialogues, cutscenes, and story documents are delivered on time, aligned with the project’s creative direction, and consistent with the Indian Epics foundation of the game. The recruit will join the project at a post-conception and pre-production stage (alpha), where the emphasis is on execution and integration of existing creative material. Any creative inputs provided by this person must be aligned with the established narrative framework and source documents, reinforcing consistency rather than expanding scope. They will manage a team of a few writers directly, and work closely with the design and production teams as well as external narrative contributors. Their mission is not to reinvent the creative vision but to ensure its faithful, timely, and high-quality execution across the project.

Core Mandate (3 main missions)

  • Lead and coordinate the writing team: oversee daily workflow, review deliverables, and mentor writers.
  • Drive narrative execution: ensure that dialogues, cutscenes, and supporting documents are delivered on schedule, respecting the creative framework and Indian Epics source material.
  • Cross-team alignment: collaborate with design, cinematics, and production to integrate narrative seamlessly into gameplay and visuals.

Success Criteria (What are we expecting from you in the next months)

  • Writers’ work is well-structured, scheduled, and tracked, with clear milestones.
  • Dialogues and cutscenes are delivered on time and integrated smoothly into the builds.
  • Narrative execution is recognized as reliable, consistent, and faithful to the Indian Epics.
  • Other departments view this role as the reference point for narrative execution.
