Job Description

Apple Ads is seeking a Senior Writer to join its creative team. The role involves developing world-class advertising and marketing communications, focusing on bringing product stories to life on the website. Responsibilities include writing numerous headlines and body copy of varying lengths for products and services, simplifying complex technology into user-friendly language, and collaborating with designers, art directors, UX designers, developers, and platform/product leads to solve problems conceptually. The writer will also need to communicate effectively with other creatives and marketing managers, present work to senior executives, and ensure alignment with group activities and brand systems, while mindfully navigating user journeys.
Must have:
  • 10+ years of experience in advertising, digital agency, or in-house creative for a major brand.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience collaborating with creative directors and product marketers.
  • Up-to-date on latest products, solutions, and technologies.
  • Award-worthy portfolio demonstrating strategic insight and writing talent.
  • Extensive knowledge of style guides and content management systems.
  • Ability to think within a brand system and mindfully navigate user journeys.
  • Ability to confidently articulate ideas and present work to senior executives.
  • Ability to work at a blistering pace and solve business problems meaningfully.

SUMMARY: The Apple Ads creative team activates on all advertising and marketing efforts to ensure the creative development and implementation of world-class communications. As a Senior Writer on this team, you would work under the limited direction of a Creative Director (CD), and bring the story of our products to life on the website. You’ll write headlines (and lots of them) and body copy (long and short in length) for everything from the latest product to different services. And, you’ll be tasked with describing complex technology in friendly language that’s simple enough for everyone to understand.
Write beautiful website copy that makes complex technologies seem amazingly simple. Craft insightful, thoughtful headlines across web, email, events, campaigns, and new product launches. Solve problems conceptually in collaboration with the broader marketing team — including designers, art directors, UX designers, developers, and platform and product leads. Communicate effectively — verbally and in writing — with other creatives and marketing managers, engendering trust and respect. Regularly review creative work with the group’s senior creative staff to get feedback on direction, and to ensure the work is aligned with other activities in the group.   • 10+ years of experience at an advertising agency, digital agency, or in-house creative group for a major or upcoming brand.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience collaborating with ACDs, CDs, and Product Marketers to refine copy until it’s flawless.
  • You’re always up to date on the latest products, solutions, and related technologies.
  • An award-worthy portfolio demonstrating strategic insight and writing talent through advertising campaigns, digital campaigns, film, and video.
  • Extensive knowledge of style guides and content management systems.
  • An ability to think within a brand system and mindfully navigate a user’s journey while writing to multiple audiences.
  • An innate ability to confidently articulate ideas and present work to senior executives.
  • You set a blistering pace on every project; exhibiting a vision for the work, minding the details, and solving business problems in a deep and meaningful way.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,100 and $255,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
