Who are we hiring?

Day to day, the Senior Writer will be responsible for writing exceptional creative work for Sphere Entertainment that is on-strategy and on-time. You are a proven storyteller with exemplary conceptual skills and an eye for design and aesthetics. You thrive on the challenge of creating dynamic content for new formats. You have a diverse range of stylistic, conceptual and strategic approaches to artful storytelling, able to pivot and collaborate with Creative Directors and Designers to create compelling ideas that amplify Sphere’s global presence.
 
As a part of the Creative & Design Services team, you’ll be a key contributor to the ideation of breakthrough ideas that help define what the Sphere is and what it can become. You’ll work with Creative Directors, Experience Designers, Motion Graphic Artists, Content Strategists and other Storytellers on concepts, creative strategy and pitches for Sphere.
 
The role spans across Sphere’s entire creative output, including programming an ongoing content library of art and promotional content, experiential activations, brand design and content for brands on the world’s most dynamic canvas, the Exosphere. Art content is how we promote our brand, creating innovative experiences and programming, designed to create high engagement, viral moments and attract other collaborators and creators. Brand experiences enable us to collaborate with the world’s top brands to explore and create new forms of artful storytelling, amplifying brand moments both on-ground and on social. Beyond the Exosphere, you will also help create and define content and experiences for the Atrium and inside the Media Plane, Sphere’s state of the art 16K immersive screen, helping evolve The Sphere Experience and Artist Residencies with original content programming.

What will you do? 

• Take a strategic brief and deliver concepts and writing that is sharp, artistic, entertaining, error-free, on-brand and on budget 
• Superior strategic thinker, superb writing and editing ability, articulate and confident presenter, keen eye for detail, grammar and style  
• Work will include a wide range of deliverables – so you must be comfortable writing concepts, big ideas, and narrative scripts to headlines and IG posts 
• Act as a conceptual thinker, brave and bold in your approach, who uses words to story tell and paint pictures in people’s minds
• Collaborate closely with Designers, Artists and Art Directors

What do you need to succeed? 

• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or Communications 
• 7+ years’ experience in copywriting or content marketing in a high-growth, fast-paced environment centered on entertainment marketing, advertising or brand content creation, preferably from a studio, agency or agency-style environment  
• Strong conceptual, creative thinking, ideation, copywriting and script writing skills  
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a diligent eye for detail, language, flow, grammar, and a proven ability to write brand voice in a range of styles and tone of voice
• Articulate and charismatic speaker who can lead discussions and captivate a room
• A “self-starter” who is highly motivated, thrives in start-up environments, maintains a high level of initiative, finds inspiration in the new and unknown, can evolve and pivot, and is able to work independently in support of creative goals and business objectives 
• Comfortable working independently with little direction under tight deadlines 
• Excellent portfolio of work, proven industry experience, and familiarity with standard style guides  
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
