Job Description

As a Shop Floor Service Champion - IT in Montreal, you will ensure flawless IT service delivery for specific shop floor locations, collaborating with supply chain vendors and key Rolls-Royce stakeholders. This role focuses on minimizing unplanned outages and enhancing business engagement. You will provide IT support, troubleshoot incidents, coordinate quality deployments, and advise on system performance. The position requires strong IT skills, relationship management, and bilingualism, contributing to Rolls-Royce's continuous innovation in power and propulsion solutions.
Must have:
  • Provide shop floor IT Support to facilitate the smooth operation of IT and other CoE delivery (Nikon Scanners, print, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot and incident triage and resolution acceleration - providing agile Business input in the resolution chain.
  • Ensure quality deployment by co-ordinating business engagement in testing real use cases.
  • Provide advice to the business regarding the improvement of performance and/or productivity of systems.
  • Manage the performance of Supply Chain vendors through Service Review meetings.
  • Act as the point of escalation for all critical service issues where there is no Business Service Manager.
  • Provide valuable input (context and data) for building business cases to address root cause of issue on the shop floor.
  • Associates Degree and 8+ years experience in IT and a Manufacturing environment or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable delivery of results in an operational or service delivery role.
  • Proficient hands-on IT Skills.
  • Demonstrable relationship management skills coupled with strong communication skills.
  • Must be Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Bilingual in French and English.
Good to have:
  • Demonstrable problem solving skills and excellent understanding business acumen.
  • Exposure to shop floor and manufacturing environment & processes.

Shop Floor Service Champion - IT

Montreal, Canada

As our Shop Floor Service Champion – IT, you will provide flawless service delivery for specific shop floor location/s working with supply chain vendors including Eco system partners, vendors and IT functions as well as key business stakeholders in Rolls-Royce. It provides the opportunity to drive engagement with the business especially minimizing unplanned outage duration and frequency.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide shop floor IT Support to facilitate the smooth operation of both IT delivery and other CoE delivery (Nikon Scanners, print, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot and incident triage and resolution acceleration - providing agile Business input in the resolution chain
  • Ensure quality deployment by co-ordinating business engagement in testing real use cases
  • Provide advice to the business regarding the improvement of performance and/or productivity of systems
  • Manage the performance of Supply Chain vendors through Service Review meetings – ensuring these focus on Business Outcomes and minimizing unplanned outage duration and frequency rather than CI based SLA performance.
  • Where there is no Business Service Manager act as the point of escalation for all critical service issues
  • Provide valuable input (context and data) for building business cases to address root cause of issue on the shop floor
  • Other admin responsibilities necessary to run IT operations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree and 8+ years experience in IT and a Manufacturing environment or
  • Bachelors Degree and 4+ years experience in IT and a Manufacturing environment or
  • Masters Degree and 2+ years experience in IT and a Manufacturing environment or
  • JD/PhD + experience in IT and a Manufacturing environment
  • In lieu of degree , 12+ years experience in IT and a Manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrable delivery of results in an operational or service delivery role
  • Proficient hands-on IT Skills
  • Demonstrable relationship management skills coupled with strong communication skills
  • Must be Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • Bilingual in French and English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable problem solving skills and excellent understanding business acumen
  • Exposure to shop floor and manufacturing environment & processes
