Job Description

The Shopper Insights & Analytics Manager will leverage data and analytics to drive shopper insights with priority Customers and consumer programs. This role will unlock partnership opportunities and omni activations to drive category growth and meaningful consumer connections. The manager will identify internal gaps and needs to bring meaningful customer insights, partner with retailer media and data teams, and dedicate time to key projects within the Canada Shopper Science Lab (SSL). The role involves developing and leading the Shopper Insights & Analytics agenda, identifying and managing research plans, creating understanding of retailer shopper profiles, supporting joint business planning, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to utilize data and drive conversion.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • 5+ years market research/insights experience
  • Prior CPG, Digital agency or CRM exp.

Job Purpose: As the Shopper Insights & Analytics Manager, you will be responsible for leveraging data and analytics to drive shopper insights with our priority Customers and consumer programs. This will unlock partnership opportunities and omni activations that drive Health in More Hands, category growth and increasingly meaningful consumer connections. The role will be equally focused internally and externally. You will identify internal gaps and needs to bring meaningful customer insights; closely partner with retailer media & data teams to build meaningful and distinctive portfolio/category/enterprise programs leveraging Haleon Get Well Stay Well, or new enterprise platforms.   • Develop and lead the Shopper Insights & Analytics agenda for Haleon Canada through collaboration with stakeholders including: Shopper Experience, Category Development, Customer teams, Marketing, and Retail partners.
  • Identify and manage the learning agenda, research plan, data and tools with focus on raising our capability and level of retailer-centric shopper understanding, including path to purchase, shopper trends, shelving & merchandising solutions.
  • Lead & create deep understanding of retailer ‘high potential shopper’ (most valuable) profiles at priority customers, leveraging online DTC research tools and focus groups, as appropriate.
  • Support retailer joint business planning with relevant insights that inform & influence retailer, department, and category strategies.
  • In partnership with relevant stakeholders, develop and be responsible for annual budget and plan to deliver bespoke and actionable Customer insights for priority retailers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external partners, and other relevant stakeholders to identify opportunities and activate on them utilizing Haleon/Customer first party data, leveraging digital eco-systems, infrastructure and capabilities.
  • Provide ongoing insights and analysis for Haleon’s Get Well, Stay Well program. This will include overall program performance, segmentation, co-hort analysis, A/B testing and database health.
  • Drive expertise as Haleon Canada ambassador and subject matter expert of key customers’ digital eco-systems & infrastructure, raising opportunities for collaboration and partnership, forging strong relationships with senior retail media stakeholders (i.e., Walmart Connect, Loblaw Media, etc.).
  • In partnership with CRM team and priority retailers, elevate first party data connectivity to drive personalization in Haleon Programs and retail media targeting to drive category conversion.
  • Support our local in-house Shopper Science Lab, including delivering an annual customer engagement & value plan to support delivery of brand, category, and sales objectives.
Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Analytics or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with market research/ insights (consumer, shopper, expert, customer)/ CRM, and/or IT.
  • Prior experience in CPG, Digital agency or CRM and digital marketing or retail media/CRM experience.
  • Strong understanding of retail strategy, marketing, and sales processes - business planning, marketing/sales strategy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to story tell. Must have the ability to distill simplified customer insights from multiple and complex data sources.
  • Ability to connect the dots between many platforms within the business e.g. Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Customer Data Platforms (CDP), Microsoft Fabric, PowerBI, Google Analytics and more.
  • Proven ability to prioritize key projects to meet critical stakeholder timelines.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder relationship management.
  • Driving business impact from Customer based insights.
  • Experience with online DTC research tools and focus group planning & facilitation.
Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • Health & Wellness or Beauty brand experience.
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud & Salesforce Data Cloud
  • Experience with secondary market consumption data/reporting/analyses/tools (e.g. Nielsen) Consumer Healthcare industry or Retail CRM experience.
