Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Site Reliability Engineer I to join our dynamic team and help ensure the reliability and performance of our Clearing applications with a focus on support and automation. The successful joiner must be able to solve problems creatively, communicate effectively, and work both independently and collaboratively. Responsibilities include contributing to incident response and post-mortem analysis, collaborating with SRE and product teams to improve observability, eliciting SLIs and SLOs, supporting the migration of Clearing applications to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and assisting in automating tasks to enhance system scalability and reliability. Collaboration with cross-functional teams for improved system reliability and performance is also key.

We are seeking a passionate Site Reliability Engineer I to join our dynamic team and help ensure the reliability and performance of our Clearing applications with a focus on support and automation.


The successful joiner must be able to solve problems creatively, communicate effectively, and work both independently and collaboratively.
 

Site Reliability Engineer I


Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to incident response and post-mortem analysis to continually improve system reliability.
  • Collaborate with SRE and product teams to continuously improve observability of our applications enabling data-driven business decisions and faster incident detection and resolution.
  • Elicit key SLIs and SLOs for products via user-journey distillations with Product leaders.
  • Support the migration of Clearing applications to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring a seamless transition.
  • Assist in automating tasks to enhance system scalability and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for improved system reliability and performance.

Skills:

  • Knowledge and ideally some experience with Linux-based systems.
  • Any Programming/scripting skills (Python, Bash, Java) would be ideal.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Adaptable and flexible, demonstrating a positive and proactive approach towards change.
  • Exhibits a growth mindset.


Desirable

  • Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, GCE, and/or GKE.
  • Good knowledge of networking (HTTP/TCP/UDP/IP).
  • Previous experience working in a DevOps or SRE role.
  • Previous experience working with metrics & monitoring, OpenTelemetry, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
  • Experience and knowledge of working with distributed systems and working with Docker & Kubernetes
  • Experience with REST services and message-oriented middleware.
