Job Description

ByteDance is seeking Software Engineers to join their Cloud Native Platform team in San Jose, CA. This team plays a crucial role in building and managing the company's enterprise-level platform, which provides services for both internal and external teams. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, developing and enhancing microservices using Cloud Native technologies, writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, and working in a fast-paced environment to ensure the platform's success.
Must have:
  • Developing CI/CD tools in Python and writing automation Bash Shell scripts
  • Automating and managing the full release lifecycle
  • Designing and implementing large-scale, distributed online software services
  • Maintaining and debugging software services
  • Designing and implementing software service architecture to support high throughput and fault tolerant services

Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional team members to build the enterprise-level platform (PaaS) to manage the lifecycle (creation, deployment, CI/CD) and provide management tools (monitoring, alerting, logging) for edge services on our globally distributed POPs that serves both internal and external teams. Develop and Enhance microservices using Cloud Native technologies. Write the necessary unit test, integration test, and end-to-end test. Work in a fast-paced environment and be responsible for end-to-end to the production environment.
Qualifications
Qualifications Must have a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, Information Systems Management, or a related field, and 1 year of related work experience; OR a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, Information Systems Management, or a related field, and 3 years related work experience. Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience in each of the following: Developing CI/CD tools in Python and writing automation Bash Shell scripts; Automating and managing the full release lifecycle, including code development, build, testing, validation, and deployment; Designing and implementing large-scale, distributed online software services using programming language Java, Go, JavaScript, Ruby, or Python; Maintaining and debugging software services; and Designing and implementing software service architecture to support high throughput and fault tolerant services. 【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $146961 - $250000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

We cover 100% premium coverage for employee medical insurance, approximately 75% premium coverage for dependents and offer a Health Savings Account(HSA) with a company match. As well as Dental, Vision, Short/Long term Disability, Basic Life, Voluntary Life and AD&D insurance plans. In addition to Flexible Spending Account(FSA) Options like Health Care, Limited Purpose and Dependent Care.

Our time off and leave plans are: 10 paid holidays per year plus 17 days of Paid Personal Time Off (PPTO) (prorated upon hire and increased by tenure) and 10 paid sick days per year as well as 12 weeks of paid Parental leave and 8 weeks of paid Supplemental Disability.
