Job Description

This job involves bridging the gap between AI and embedded systems. The Software Engineer will create efficient solutions for autonomous driving applications. Responsibilities include optimizing machine learning applications for resource-constrained systems and integrating the application in a test vehicle. The role also involves troubleshooting complex issues. The job requires strong programming experience in Python and C/C++, experience with ML model optimization, and knowledge of machine learning frameworks. The candidate will be part of an international team and learn from experienced professionals.

Your Role

  • Bridge the gap between state-of-the-art AI and resource-constrained embedded systems, creating efficient solutions that bring autonomous driving applications to the edge.

  • Work as part of an international team and learn from seasoned technical experts from around the globe to optimize and deploy machine learning applications to resource-constrained, safety-critical automotive embedded compute platforms.

  • Apply various machine learning optimization techniques and lower level code optimization approaches to meet real-time requirements of autonomous driving applications.

  • Integrate and try out your application in a test vehicle.

  • Troubleshoot complex issues at the intersection of embedded systems and AI/ML technologies.

 

Your Background

  • Master or PhD degree in engineering or related field (e.g. physics, mathematics)

  • Strong programming experience in Python for tooling as well as C/C++ for embedded software development - including debugging, testing, profiling, code optimization (runtime and memory)

  • Applied experience in ML model optimization methods (e.g. quantization, pruning, graph surgery, low-rank approximation, knowledge distillation ...)

  • Experience in machine learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch) and model exchange formats (e.g. ONNX)

  • Good analytical skills and a good mathematical background

Nice to have:

  • Familiar with instruction set and memory architectures of general purpose (e.g. ARM) as well as vector processors (e.g. DSPs, AI accelerators)

  • Experience with service-oriented architectures, multithreading and real-time operating systems is a bonus

  • General knowledge about perception and ML algorithms
