Job Summary
Applied Materials is seeking a Software QA Engineer to debug complex software products through systematic tests, develop and maintain quality standards, and perform software tests on code and enhancements. The role involves analyzing and writing test standards, documenting results, and consulting with development engineers to resolve problems. This position contributes to ensuring quality computer integration for scientific computation, data acquisition, and processing.
Must Have
- Debug complex software products using systematic tests
- Develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products
- Perform software tests on code and enhancements with limited supervision
- Analyze and write test standards and procedures
- Maintain documentation of test results for debugging and modification
- Analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and recommend corrective action
- Consult with development engineers in problem resolution
- Provide feedback for technical appraisals of programming languages, systems, and software
- Ensure quality computer integration into scientific computation, data acquisition, and processing
- Demonstrate conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline

Key Responsibilities
Debugs a variety of complex software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply and maintain quality standards for company products.
Performs software tests on code and enhancements, with limited supervision.
Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures
Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software.
Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action.
Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems.
Provides feedback in preparation of technical appraisals of programming languages, systems and computation software.
Ensures quality computer integration into the overall functions of scientific computation, data acquisition and processing. Assists in technically leading and/or executing software test projects.
