Our team is expanding, and we are looking for a highly motivated Solutions Engineer to be based in France, Belgium, or Netherlands. In this role, you will provide expert knowledge of Optical Networking (WDM, Fiber Monitoring, and PON) to the Western Europe regional Sales Team. Key responsibilities include managing major bids, supporting customer demonstrations, and providing technical advice on network consulting, optimization, and planning.
Must have:
  • Communicate sales and market requirements and trends, including feature requests.
  • Technically manage major bids and tenders in the region.
  • Execute technical aspects of the RFX process and assist with Win / Loss Analysis.
  • Provide direct customer-facing support to sales for major accounts and channels.
  • Support customer demonstrations, trials, evaluations, and technology introduction programs.
  • Offer technical advice to sales and strategic customers on network consulting, optimization, planning, and training.
  • Possess a good science/engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of transmission networks (DWDM) and Access/Data-Centric networks (IP, Fibre Channel).
  • Have experience in network providers, data centers, or telco/router equipment suppliers.
  • Be fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Possess considerable presentation and meeting management experience.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated Solutions Engineer to be based in either France/Belgium/Netherlands.

In this position, you will provide expert knowledge of Optical Networking (WDM, Fiber Monitoring and PON) to the Western Europe regional Sales Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communication of sales and market requirements and trends incl. "Requests for Features".
  • Providing technical management of major bids and tenders in the region. This will include but is not limited to keeping in close contact with strategic customers, Product Line Management and Business Development (BD).
  • Responsible for executing the technical aspects of the RFX process and assisting the Key Account Manager with the Win / Loss Analysis process including tools and documentation.
  • Direct customer-facing support to sales with major account and channel opportunities.
  • Support customer demonstrations, and work with Customer Services to provide trials, evaluations, and First Installs and Technology Introduction Programmes.
  • Provide technical advice to the sales team and strategic customers: General network consulting, network optimisation, network planning and training.

Knowledge, skills and experience required

  • Good science / engineering degree or equivalent industry experience
  • In-depth knowledge of transmission networks (DWDM), and Access or Data-Centric networks / LANs (IP, Fibre Channel)
  • Experience in the network providers, data centre, or telco / router equipment supplier area
  • Fluent in English skills, both spoken and written – other languages are appreciated as well
  • Robust personality and attitude essential.
  • Must have considerable presentation and meeting management experience

Scope of employment

  • Fulltime / Permanent
  • Office based (Paris), hybrid or remote working (Belgium/Netherlands).
  • Readiness to travel in Europe (25%)

Compensation

  • Sales compensation scheme: Base salary + Commission
