Job Description

The Financial Modeling Specialist will build and maintain the company’s long-range, structural, and scenario-based financial models, encompassing 1-year, 5-year, and 10-year plans. Key responsibilities include monthly modeling of revenue, incentives, and margin dynamics. This role enables robust scenario planning, supports commercial strategy, and informs critical investment and business case decisions, contributing to the company's financial foresight and strategic growth.
Must have:
  • Own and maintain financial models across 1-year, 5-year, and 10-year planning horizons ensuring variances are accurately captured
  • Develop dynamic modules for revenue, margin, labor, capex and depreciation, contra revenue, and other cost drivers
  • Conduct sensitivity, scenario, and what-if analyses (e.g., volume, mix, pricing)
  • Model vehicle-level margin and incentive structures to support forecasts
  • Support strategic initiatives through ad hoc modeling and ROI analysis
  • Maintain assumption documentation and version control
  • Partner with FP&A and Finance leadership to inform planning cycles and decision-making
  • Translate models into system-compatible structures for reporting purposes and future FP&A tool deployment

  • Prior experience supporting strategic planning or business cases preferred
  • Experience with planning tools or system model builds a plus

About the Role:

The Financial Modeling Specialist is responsible for building and maintaining the company’s long-range, structural, and scenario-based financial models. This includes the 1-year, 5-year, and 10-year financial plans, as well as monthly modeling of revenue, incentives, and margin dynamics. You will enable scenario planning, partner on commercial strategy, and support investment and business case decisions.

What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Own and maintain financial models across 1-year, 5-year, and 10-year planning horizons ensuring variances are accurately captured
  • Develop dynamic modules for revenue, margin, labor, capex and depreciation, contra revenue, and other cost drivers
  • Conduct sensitivity, scenario, and what-if analyses (e.g., volume, mix, pricing)
  • Model vehicle-level margin and incentive structures to support forecasts
  • Support strategic initiatives through ad hoc modeling and ROI analysis
  • Maintain assumption documentation and version control
  • Partner with FP&A and Finance leadership to inform planning cycles and decision-making
  • Translate models into system-compatible structures for reporting purposes and future FP&A tool deployment

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the future corporate headquarters, which is anticipated to be identified in 2025. This role may be remote to start but will transition to an in-office setting at the headquarters after the location is determined and you are expected to relocate at such time. This role is not eligible for remote work in New York City.
  • The responsibilities of this role require attendance in office with in-person meetings and events occasionally.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a quantitative field
  • 4+ years of experience in financial modeling, FP&A, investment analysis, or consulting
  • Prior experience supporting strategic planning or business cases preferred

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Excel modeling skills (multi-sheet dynamic models, scenario switches, drivers)
  • Strong grasp of financial statement logic and forecasting principles
  • Familiarity with long-range planning, discounted cash flow, return on sales (ROS), breakeven
  • Experience with planning tools or system model builds a plus

Interpersonal & Professional Skills

  • Strategic thinker with structured approach to modeling assumptions and logic
  • Comfortable presenting model outputs to senior stakeholders
  • High ownership mindset and detail orientation
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with cross-functional teams

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $90,000.00 - $112,500.00
