Synechron is seeking a skilled SQL Developer with expertise in Snowflake and data analytics. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data solutions, performing complex data analysis, and delivering actionable insights. Responsibilities include optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, and data pipelines in Snowflake, designing data models and schemas, collaborating with stakeholders, and troubleshooting data issues. The developer will create dashboards and reports, ensure data accuracy and security, and optimize Snowflake performance. A strong understanding of SQL, data warehousing, and aggregate data analysis techniques is required. The position is located in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, with a salary range of CAD $90k – CAD $100k per year plus benefits.
Must have:
  • 7+ years of SQL development experience, especially with Snowflake.
  • Proficient in SQL query writing, optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with data modeling and schema design.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and extract insights.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Good to have:
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.
  • Experience with other cloud data platforms (AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like Python or R.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools.
  • Snowflake or data analytics certification is a plus.

Our challenge

We are seeking a skilled SQL Developer with expertise in Snowflake and a strong background in data analytics to join our data team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data solutions, performing complex data analysis, and delivering actionable insights to support business objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of SQL, data warehousing, and aggregate data analysis techniques.

Additional Information* 

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.  In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Mississauga, ON is CAD $90k – CAD $100k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and data pipelines within Snowflake.
  • Design and implement data models, schemas, and transformations to support reporting and analytics.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver analytical solutions.
  • Perform complex data analysis, data validation, and troubleshoot data issues.
  • Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to present insights effectively.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security across data storage and reporting platforms.
  • Optimize Snowflake and SQL performance for large datasets and complex queries.
  • Conduct data quality audits and implement best practices for data governance.
  • Support data migration, integration, and ETL processes.
  • Stay informed about new features and best practices in Snowflake and data analytics tools.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.
  • 7+ years of hands-on SQL development experience, particularly with Snowflake.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL query writing, optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with data modeling, schema design, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful insights.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience with other cloud data platforms (AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or R for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools and processes.
  • Certification in Snowflake or data analytics is a plus.
