Job Description

Zuora's monetization platform helps businesses manage their monetization strategies for the "quote to cash" process. The Accounting product team focuses on building industry-leading accounting automation. This Senior Product Manager role is crucial for shaping Zuora as an Accounts Receivable Subledger, bridging accounting/finance requirements with development. The role involves acting as a subject matter expert, translating accounting needs into product requirements, defining features, and driving the product roadmap.
Must have:
  • Act as the subject matter expert on accounting (technical and operational) topics
  • Translate accounting workflows and compliance needs into product requirements and specs
  • Define, prioritize, and execute features that align with customer needs and business goals
  • Harness a passion for Artificial Intelligence and applying it to solve real-world problems related to Accounting and Accounts Receivable
  • Drive scalable and robust product roadmap
  • Partner closely with engineers and designers to deliver accurate, intuitive solutions
  • Gather feedback from customers, internal stakeholders, and the market to inform product development
  • Plan and execute Product launches, including coordination with go to market functions
  • Support QA and user acceptance testing for finance-related features
  • 5+ years of experience in product management
  • 10+ years overall experience in cloud software product development
  • 5+ years of operational experience as a designated Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant
  • Knowledge and experience of operating, implementing or developing solutions for Cloud-based ERPs and/or other Accounting Automation solutions
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure and scalability concepts
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling software products

The Team & Role

Zuora’s monetization platform enables businesses to operationalize their monetization strategies for the “quote to cash” business process. The Accounting product team ensures that Zuora continues to build industry-leading accounting automation to support deployments of different monetization strategies. This role will play a critical part in shaping Zuora as an Accounts Receivable Subledger. Your background and expertise in accounting policies and operations in the area of Accounts Receivable will bridge the gap between accounting/finance persona requirements and the development team.

What you’ll do

  • Act as the subject matter expert on accounting (technical and operational) topics (e.g., Accounts Receivable related policies, intercompany transactions, consolidations, audit readiness).
  • Translate accounting workflows and compliance needs into product requirements and specs.
  • Define, prioritize, and execute features that align with customer needs and business goals. This will require an End to End understanding of business processes related to Quote to Cash and be an advocate for End to End automation in Product design.
  • Harness a passion for Artificial Intelligence and applying it to solve real-world problems related to Accounting and Accounts Receivable
  • Drive scalable and robust product roadmap. Prioritize and align to support key business objectives and corporate strategy.
  • Partner closely with engineers and designers to deliver accurate, intuitive solutions.
  • Gather feedback from customers, internal stakeholders, and the market to inform product development.
  • Plan and execute Product launches, including coordination with go to market functions such as product marketing. Also create product documentation, release notes, and training materials.
  • Support QA and user acceptance testing for finance-related features.
  • Collaborate with Global team; time zone flexibility required

Your experience

  • 5+ years of experience in product management with a track record of taking initiatives from idea to market with overall experience of 10+ in cloud software product development.
  • 5+ years of operational experience as a designated Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant
  • Knowledge and experience of operating, implementing or developing solutions for Cloud-based ERP’s (eg. Oracle, Oracle Netsuite, Workday Financials) and/or other Accounting Automation solutions.
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure and scalability concepts
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding communication, storytelling, & interpersonal skills. Emphasis on distilling complex concepts and problems into simple narratives.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling software products.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence without direct authority.
