Marvell Compute and Custom Solutions seeks a self-motivated Staff Hardware Engineer in Taipei to design, bring-up, test, and debug complex CPU/SoC-based reference products. The role involves collaborating with chip designers and software engineers, creating design documents, and mastering emerging technologies like 200G Ethernet, PCIe Gen5, and DDR5. This position is crucial for powering next-generation data processing and workload acceleration platforms for the Carrier, Cloud/Enterprise, and Storage Computing market segments.
Must have:
  • Design complex CPU/SoC-based reference products
  • Work with chip designers and hardware/software engineers
  • Bring-up, test, and debug issues in reference products
  • Create design documents for internal and external customer designs
  • Master latest and emerging technologies (200G Ethernet, PCIe Gen5, DDR5, 5G)
  • Apply latest technologies for reviewing, clarifying, guiding, and debugging designs
  • 8+ years of experience in designing high speed, high-density PCBs
  • Proficient in designing complex CPU/SoC-based reference products
  • Experience in design, bring-up, testing, and debugging reference products
  • Ability to create comprehensive design documents
  • In-depth understanding of multi-core CPUs, DDR4/5, serdes interfaces (PCIe Gen3/4/5), and BMC architecture
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment
  • Strong debugging skills

What You Can Expect

Seeking a self-motivated and team-oriented System and PCB design engineer to design complex CPU/SoC-based reference products.

1. The candidate will work with chip designers and hardware/software engineers to design, bring-up, test, and debug issues in reference products.

2. Involved in creating design documents to facilitate and support internal and external customer designs based on state-of-the-art Marvell CPUs/SoCs and other devices.

3. Enjoys learning and is self-committed to mastering the latest and emerging technologies (including 200G Ethernet and beyond, PCIe Gen5, DDR5, 5G related, etc.).

4. Has the ability to distill the basics of the latest technologies and applies them for reviewing, clarifying, guiding, and debugging designs from external and internal customers.

What We're Looking For

A summary of the necessary background and experiences are:

  • MSEE
  • 8+ years of experience in designing high speed, and high-density PCBs with processors, microcontrollers, Ethernet switches, along with power supply designs
  • Proficient in designing complex CPU/SoC-based reference products, collaborating with chip designers, and hardware/software engineers.
  • Experience in the design, bring-up, testing, and debugging of reference products.
  • Ability to create comprehensive design documents to support customer designs.
  • In-depth understanding of multi-core CPUs, DDR4/5 memory technologies, and serdes interfaces including PCIe Gen3/4/5, and BMC architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment for measurements and analysis.
  • Strong debugging skills to identify and resolve issues effectively.
  • Self-motivated and team-oriented, capable of working collaboratively with various engineering teams.
