Staff Software Engineer

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will enable customer self-service features within Lytx Safety Software, focusing on solutions for invoice viewing/payment, product ordering, and installation requests. This role involves leading projects, establishing engineering best practices, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating across Agile teams to rapidly prototype, deploy, and test innovative, scalable solutions for managing millions of devices and enhancing market position.

Must Have

• B.E/B Tech in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
• 9+ years’ enterprise software engineering experience
• Deep design experience in highly scalable cloud systems
• Expertise in high-scale distributed systems (e.g., Kafka)
• Expert knowledge of object-oriented design and enterprise patterns
• Expert level knowledge of high-level languages (preferably C#)
• Full stack development with front-end focus (Angular or similar)
• Design and development experience with microservices, RESTful APIs
• Expertise in data modelling with MS SQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
• Experience with public clouds (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

As Staff Software Engineer, you’ll work on enabling customer self-service features in industry leading Lytx Safety Software. You will be responsible for building solutions that enable customers to view/pay invoices, order more product, request installations and other self-service functionality. You will lead projects, establish engineering best practices, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across Agile teams.

• Guide the architectural direction and engineering practices for assigned applications.
• Mentor across teams to grow their skills and build high-quality solutions.
• Work directly with Product Management, IT, and Operations to define, test, and productize new solutions that enhance our position within our markets.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

• B.E/B Tech in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Enterprise software engineer experience with 9+ years’ building scalable web applications.
• Deep design experience in building highly scalable systems/applications in the cloud.
• Expertise in building high scale distributed systems with technologies like Kafka.

• Experience working in a public cloud like AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Ability to collaborate across numerous teams, document ideas, strategies and effectively communicate across teams.
• Passion for working across teams to drive engineering vision and best practices.
