Aisera is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Conversational AI & Automation. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining AI & Automation building blocks and features, focusing on microservices architecture. The engineer will provide technical guidance, collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensure high-quality scalable systems, and troubleshoot production issues. The position requires strong technical leadership and expertise in product development to enhance existing solutions.
Good To Have:
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
  • Familiarity with SaaS concepts and developing SaaS-based applications.
  • Domain knowledge with ServiceNow, Salesforce, workflow, business process.
  • Experience with building machine learning products.
Must Have:
  • Design, build, and deliver scalable and real-time systems.
  • Collaborate with product management, data science, and engineering teams.
  • Review technical designs and code changes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production.
  • Proactively identify and drive solutions for technical debt.
  • Take operational ownership using monitoring and observability tools.
  • 10+ years hands-on experience with microservices and scalable software development.
  • Experience with distributed systems, large-scale data, and full software lifecycle (Java, Python).
  • Solid understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in database design and integration (SQL, NoSQL).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

The Role:

We are looking for a skilled software engineer with solid hands-on experience in a technical leadership role, providing technical guidance and directions to team members.

As a Staff /Sr Staff engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our conversation AI & Automation building blocks and features, with a focus on microservices architecture. Your expertise in product development, technical vision and leadership will be valuable in shaping our innovative solutions and enhancing our existing products.

This role is based out of our Santa Clara, CA office, and an Onsite interview is required as part of the process.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and deliver scalable and real-time systems with high quality, scalability, and operability in mind.
  • Collaborate with product management, data science, and other engineering teams to bring end-to-end solutions with the highest business value to our customers.
  • Review and provide feedback on technical designs and code changes to ensure highly available, scalable, maintainable designs and high code quality standards to engineering peers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues that arise in production and provide timely resolutions.
  • Proactively identify areas of technical debt and improvement opportunities, and drive solutions or innovation in engineering organization.
  • Take operational ownership of the system by using monitoring and observability tools to identify and resolve production issues.
  • Mentor and coach team members to raise the technical bar on the team.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years hands-on experience with microservices and scalable software development.
  • Experience with distributed systems, large-scale data, and the full software lifecycle of modern computer languages (java, python, etc).
  • Solid understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in database design and integration, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g AWS, GCP) is highly desired
  • Familiarity with SaaS concepts and experience in developing SaaS-based applications is a plus.
  • Domain knowledge experience with ServiceNow, Salesforce, workflow, business process etc.
  • Experience with building machine learning products.
