Supplier Quality Engineer

This position is for in-person work, in Governador Valadares, Minas Gerais.

The Supplier Quality team is committed to ensuring the excellence of supplied components, working closely with the Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, PCP, Logistics, and Projects areas.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Supplier Quality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the excellence of supplied components, as well as ensuring supplier compliance through audits of components and plants of Wabtec partners.

What do we want to know about you?

• Engineering degree with active CREA;
• Intermediate Office Suite knowledge;
• Knowledge of quality tools, FTA, FMEA, and APQP;
• Intermediate English;
• Driver's License B.

What will your day-to-day be like?

• Perform supplier evaluation and qualification, ensuring compliance with technical, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Act in the identification and prospecting of potential suppliers in the market, in alignment with the Sourcing team, aiming to ensure the competitiveness, quality, and compliance of strategic partners.
• Collaborate with the Engineering and Sourcing team in the search for improvements in supplied products, focusing on cost reduction and increased operational efficiency.
• Conduct quality and process audits at suppliers, based on the criteria defined by the organization, ensuring compliance with established requirements.
• Act in the management of supply non-conformities, conducting technical investigations into failures (such as defective parts) and coordinating, with suppliers, the definition and implementation of corrective and preventive actions, ensuring the elimination of causes and the mitigation of future risks.
• Analyze and approve PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation sent by suppliers, ensuring that technical, quality, and process requirements are fully met before release for mass production.
• Analyze suppliers' production processes, including verification of production capacity through recognized methodologies in the automotive sector, such as Run at Rate, in addition to offering technical support for identifying opportunities for improvement in productivity and operational efficiency.
• Manage production tools allocated to suppliers, ensuring their traceability, conservation, availability, and compliance with the technical requirements established by the organization.
• Perform supplier risk analyses, considering financial, quality, delivery, and other critical factors.
• Monitor quality and logistics performance indicators, and develop action plans for suppliers with unsatisfactory performance.
