Job Summary

Job Description

Monitors all property areas for security and safety risks, ensuring quality observations and investigations. Maintains knowledge of Gaming Commission rules, protecting casino assets and gaming integrity. Assists with report flow, creates daily activity reports, and coordinates investigations. Observes, documents, and reports suspicious activities, regularly inspecting premises for hazards. Accountable for departmental records and reports, conducting daily player evaluations and rating audits, and identifying operational improvement opportunities.
Must have:
  • Monitor all areas of the property, identifying potential security and/or safety risks.
  • Ensure quality observations and investigations in the Surveillance Department.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of rules and regulations of the Gaming Commission.
  • Protect casino assets and gaming integrity through consistent monitoring.
  • Assist with directing the flow of Surveillance Reports.
  • Create daily activity reports and prepare necessary reports for management.
  • Observe, document, video coverage and report any unusual or suspicious activities.
  • Regularly inspect the premises, identifying potential safety or security hazards.
  • Be accountable for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
  • Conduct daily player evaluations and rating audits.
  • Monitor and analyze daily gaming activity.
  • Ability to read and interpret policy and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to analyze gaming statistics and investigate discrepancies thoroughly.
  • Ability to write effective reports.
  • Ability to view surveillance footage and find conclusive supporting video facts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to watch and protect Craps, Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, and Specialty Games.
  • Ability to complete thorough Player Evaluations on Craps, Baccarat, Roulette, and Blackjack.
  • Knowledge of Slot Advantage Play.
  • Experience working with BJ Survey and eConnect.
  • Ability to effectively make decisions in the room.
  • Ability to conduct larger scale gaming investigations.
  • Ability to detect schemes, cheating activity, and advantage.
Good to have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal justice or related area.
  • Table Games Dealing School preferred.

General Summary Of Duties:

Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Always monitors all areas of the property, identifying potential security and/or safety risks and reporting them to the appropriate individual or entity for proper resolution
  • Ensure quality observations and investigations in the Surveillance Department on assigned shift
  • Maintains a working knowledge of rules and regulations of the Gaming Commission and ensures strict adherence to same throughout the property.
  • Protects casino assets and gaming integrity through the consistent, thorough monitoring of all activities on property, particularly on the gaming floor
  • Assists with directing the flow of Surveillance Reports to the proper individuals per Surveillance Management, always maintaining the highest level of confidentiality
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Maintains world class service levels in the Surveillance Department.
  • Create daily activity reports and prepares necessary reports for management.
  • Coordinates, with the Surveillance Management, when Surveillance discovers a matter which needs further investigation or attention as appropriate.
  • Observes, documents, video coverage and reports any unusual or suspicious activities on property.
  • Regularly inspects the premises, identifying potential safety or security hazards, and reporting same to Surveillance Management, for proper resolution.
  • Held accountable for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
  • Conduct daily player evaluations and rating audits
  • Identify, document, and find solutions for operational improvement opportunities
  • Monitors and analyzes daily gaming activity
  • Has experience with operational case studies
  • Has knowledge of house advantage as it pertains to player reinvestment

Qualifications

Performance Requirements: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)

  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.
  • Ability to analyze gaming statistics and investigate discrepancies thoroughly.
  • Ability to write effective reports.
  • Ability to view surveillance footage and find conclusive supporting video facts.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from Team Members or guests.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to interpret data from graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.
  • Full Knowledge and understanding of company and department rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to watch and protect Craps, Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, and Specialty Games.
  • Ability to complete thorough Player Evaluations on Craps, Baccarat, Roulette, and Blackjack.
  • Knowledge of Slot Advantage Play
  • Experience working with BJ Survey and eConnect
  • Works well in a team atmosphere.
  • Must be able to effectively make decisions in the room

Additional Information

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal justice or related area from a four-year college or university preferred.

Desirables: Table Games Dealing School Preferred
