The Triage Engineering team is looking for an enthusiastic, and detail-oriented engineer to help deliver the next quality release of these products on Apple’s platforms.
The Triage Engineering team is looking for an engineer with a strong technical and triaging background to help screen and triage incoming bug reports, handle a large influx of reports, reduce them to practical steps and assign them to the appropriate team. By understanding the reports coming in and escalating them appropriately, you will play a key part in making future releases of Apple’s communication applications and browser exceptional. In this role, you will help us screen incoming bugs, run a large queue in a timely manner, reduce them to practical steps, and assign them to appropriate engineers. Excellent communication skills are a must because of the close interaction with several engineering teams throughout Apple for this role. In addition to leveraging your programming skills to automate and scale various aspect of triaging to identify critical issues faster. Responsibilities include:
- You will triage incoming bugs, analyze logs, reproduce issues and help determine the correct resolvers, the priority of problems, while identifying emerging trends across the reported issues
- You will design, develop and automate triaging of incoming bugs
- You will drive quality and champion bug fixes by working closely with the development team and participating in root cause analysis.
- One year of experience diagnosing and triaging software issues
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; 2 years of relevant professional experience may substitute for the educational requirement
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Experience working with Git or other source control systems
- Excellent programming skills in Python, Javascript or other languages
- Experience in Swift or Objective-C or C/C++
- Experience in building and deploying tools
- Understanding of ML/AI concepts and data analytics
- Web browser experience
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $121,300 and $213,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
