Job Description

You will work within the Engineering department (second-line management) of the Thales branch in Eindhoven, and at Defense locations in the surrounding area. You enjoy learning new technical subject areas, because as a System Administrator you are the ears and eyes at customer locations and you support both the second-line management department and the customer. As a System Administrator, you directly influence the availability of services at customer locations. Whether it concerns solving problems, processing and rolling out changes or remedying a disruption, your impact on the customer experience is essential. Your task as a system administrator is very varied. You work together with the team and client to maintain the availability and IT security level of the platform and to improve efficiency.
Must have:
  • Performing tasks for IT system management / application management for both corrective and preventive maintenance at customer locations.
  • Executing validated changes at customer locations.
  • Performing and/or rolling out regular security updates at customer locations.
  • Consulting, coordinating and collaborating with the second-line management team.
  • Registering customer questions and problems and, where possible, answering and/or solving them directly.
  • Independently identifying and realizing improvements.
  • Participating in an on-call schedule for support outside office hours.
  • Management experience with MS Windows Server 2012R2/2019, MS SQL 2016/2019, MS Windows 10, VMware (6.5+), NSX, Veeam, RHEL (7-8), CentOS, Active Directory, DNS and MS-IAM.
  • Skills in managing certificates and PKI infrastructure.
  • Experience with tools such as WSUS, PowerShell, Ansible and JIRA.
  • Knowledge of and experience with management and monitoring systems such as ServiceNow and HP Openview/OMI/OMD.
  • Experience in managing HPE server hardware, workstations, SAN and NAS.
  • MBO+/HBO working and thinking level in electrical engineering, telematics or ICT with relevant maintenance experience.
  • Team player with willingness for on-call services and focus on accuracy and quality in administrative processing.
  • Ability to work independently and practical skills in module and component replacement.
  • Proficient in Dutch and English communication.
  • Driving license B necessary and willingness to travel within the Netherlands.
  • Possession of a Dutch passport.
  • A screening is part of this function. (MIVD-B)

About your future job as System Administrator

You will work within the Engineering department (second-line management) of the Thales branch at the Eindhoven location, and at Defense locations in the surrounding area. You enjoy learning new technical subject areas, because as a System Administrator you are the ears and eyes at customer locations and you support both the second-line management department and the customer.

As a System Administrator, you directly influence the availability of services at customer locations. Whether it concerns solving problems, processing and rolling out changes or remedying a disruption, your impact on the customer experience is of essential importance.

You will be trained for a period of approximately 6 months at one of our locations in the center of the country (Huizen – Amersfoort). After a thorough training period, you will work from locations in the south of the country.

Your task as a system administrator is very varied. You work together with the team and client to maintain the availability and IT security level of the platform and to improve efficiency.

The main tasks are:
